John T. Earnest came to a small synagogue in a small California city of 50,000 with a rifle and big dreams of killing Jews. In a manifesto posted on 8chan, he boasted, “I would die a thousand times over”.

The Neo-Nazi wannabe killer listed Adolf Hitler as his inspiration. “My act will inspire others to take a stand as well,” he wrote in his manifesto. “And when this revolution starts gaining traction (if I am not killed) I expect to be freed from prison and continue the fight.”

Inside, an elderly Rabbi, a 60-year old woman, an 9-year-old girl, and other Jewish worshipers celebrating the final day of Passover showed him the true meaning of courage.

The older congregants in the sanctuary of Chabad of Poway, the city’s sole Orthodox Jewish synagogue, were reciting Yizkor, the prayer for deceased loved ones, an occasion that can summon even the most secular Jew to the synagogue, while the younger children were playing in the synagogue’s hall.

Had Earnest opened fire in the sanctuary, many of the congregants asking the Lord to embrace their parents and grandparents, and unite their souls with those of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all of their forefathers, would have joined them in death. But instead, the Neo-Nazi was drawn after the Rabbi and the congregation’s children who embodied the innocence and goodness he was driven to destroy.

The Neo-Nazi stopped in the lobby and opened fire on Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein and the children.

Rabbi Goldstein rushed to get the children out of the hall. He was wounded, and lost his right index finger, but kept saving the children. Lori Gilbert Kaye, a 60-year-old longtime congregant, jumped in to stop a bullet meant for the Rabbi and was killed. Her husband, a doctor, would fight to keep her alive.

Almog Peretz, an Israeli tourist who had faced Islamic terror at home, grabbed more children and rushed them to safety. He was shot in the leg, but that didn’t stop Peretz who recalled being under fire in Israel.

His brother-in-law, Israel Dahan, flipped over a table to shield the children. His daughter, 9-year-old, Noya Dahan, was hit by in the leg. But the 9-year-old girl later insisted on sharing a photo of herself smiling from the hospital.

Earnest had come in vowing to kill as many Jews as he could. He had boasted of his bravery and of his willingness to die. “Fear is the only thing holding you back,” he had bragged.

But in the face of their courage, he faltered. His rifle jammed. An Iraq War vet congregant rushed at him. And he ran for it.

The Neo-Nazi had brought a soundtrack including the Pokemon theme song and a track from a Halo video game to inspire him. His intended victims had brought their faith in God.

He had expected to break them. Instead their determination broke him.

An off duty Border Patrol officer who was a member of the congregation fired at him as he ran. The shots missed the killer, but struck his car. While the congregants waited for the police, Rabbi Goldstein, his bloody fingers wrapped in a prayer shawl, delivered a sermon encouraging his congregants to be brave. Earnest, afraid that he might be shot by police, called 911, left the car, raised his hands and surrendered.

The attack on Chabad of Poway did not happen in a vacuum. The Chassidic Jewish group has been a mecca for anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, including claims that they served as the interface between Putin and Trump. That claim didn’t appear in some fringe publication, but in a popular Politico article.

Earnest’s manifesto had expressed hatred not just for Jews, but for Trump as, “Zionist, Jew-loving”. Those were the same sentiments featured in an anti-Semitic cartoon in the New York Times of President Trump wearing a Jewish skullcap and being led around by a long-nosed dog with Prime Minister Netanyahu’s face in another convergence of alt-left and alt-right anti-Semitism.

The quiet city where a Neo-Nazi gunman opened fire is over 2,700 miles away from the headquarters of the New York Times and Politico, but anti-Semitic conspiracy theories have a ubiquitous appeal for socialist fanatics, whether their role model is Adolf Hitler or Joseph Stalin. The events thousands of miles apart showed how compelling anti-Semitism is for the urban newspaper editor and the deranged thug, for their shared dreams of a racial war that will fracture America into the broken horror of their utopia.

To Politico and to the gunman, a small synagogue in a small city was an outpost of the hidden empire of the Jewish conspiracy. To the alt-left media, a Chabad Rabbi might be the hidden link between Republicans and Moscow. To alt-righters like Earnest, it was a chain in a conspiracy of usury and war. To the New York Times, Politico and the Neo-Nazi killer, President Trump was just a dupe of the Jews.

In a fractured society, anti-Semitism is a language shared by a Neo-Nazi like John Earnest and an Islamist like Rep. Omar and the leftists in the mainstream media. Jewish conspiracy theories are ancient, but are still kept alive by diverse fanatics who use them to make sense out of a chaotic multicultural landscape.

The world of the alt-left and the alt-right, of Islamists, Nazis and Marxists, makes so much sense if you assume that a tiny minority of a few million can be blamed for everything that stands in their way.

The New York Times wants people to believe that there would be peace in the Middle East if it weren’t for the Jews. Politico wanted its readers to believe that Trump would be in jail if it weren’t for the Jews. And John Earnest believed that he would have a girlfriend and a satisfying life if it weren’t for the Jews.

Why the Jews?

John Earnest’s rantings give us part of the answer. The 19-year-old who had spent his life playing video games wanted to be a hero. But he didn’t want to join the military or the police. Nor did he want to follow through on becoming a nursing student and doing the hard work of taking care of people.

Instead, he loaded up a video game soundtrack and went after the easiest and softest target in the area.

The vast conspiracy theories about the Jews would allow him to play a hero by opening fire with a rifle on elderly congregants and children. He imagined that this act of terror would turn inspire others.

But the heroism of anti-Semitism isn’t just celebrated on 8chan.

Every media attack on Israel is treated as an act of courage. After three generations of ceaselessly attacking Israel, the New York Times recently ran an op-ed titled, Time to Break the Silence on Palestine. Media critics of Israel claim that they’re a beleaguered minority constantly being silenced and muzzled, when theirs are the only voices we hear from anymore. Like Earnest, they too want to be heroes.

It takes no courage to shoot elderly people with a gun. Or to run another anti-Semitic hit piece against people who are almost as unarmed. But such is the courage that the alt-left and the alt-right celebrate.

Anyone can be an anti-Semite. The material is familiar and simple. And so anyone can be a hero.

Anti-Semitism is the last refuge of cowards. It’s the laziest hatred that requires the least creativity. The alt-left revived anti-Semitism as anti-Zionism. The alt-right dressed it up in hipster irony, in anime and video game references. But all they’ve done is slap a little fresh paint on a beat-up old car.

John Earnest was a coward. Not just because he ran when his weapon jammed and he feared facing down the grandparents and parents of the children he had just tried to murder without a gun in hand.

He was a coward because he blamed his problems on the oldest, worn-out bigotry on the books. Instead of finding the courage to live a meaningful life, he took away his own options with a murderous fantasy. But the even bigger cowards are to be found in an alt-right internet culture that egged him on for laughs. His true counterparts are the Islamic terrorists who, instead of building working societies, plot acts of mass murder in revenge for the historical conspiracy theories they blame for everything.

 “You know, with the loss of my index finger, it’s going to be a scar for the rest of my life – to both – to remind us of literally how vulnerable we are, but also how brave we need to be. Everyone needs to be a hero. Everyone needs to step up and do something in the face of terror,” Rabbi Goldstein said.

A meaningful life is made up of bravery built on vulnerability.

Victimhood culture tells its victims that their vulnerability is a crime committed against them by a conspiracy of Jews, infidels, or racists that must be met with grievance and violence. Like Earnest, they believe that they are doomed. Their only salvation can come from destroying the lives of others.

And that is cowardice.

John Earnest didn’t really hate Jews. He hated himself. He tried to kill what he hated about himself by killing Jews. His failure is not unique. Earnest admired Hitler who tried to kill what he hated about Germany by killing Jews. His counterparts on the alt-left consist of socialists who tried to kill the flaws in Communism by killing Jews, and the Islamists who tried to do the same for the flaws in the Caliphate.

Other peoples, including, most recently Christians in Sri Lanka, can be substituted for Jews.

No amount of dead Jews would have saved Earnest from seeing the emptiness in the mirror. Just as no amount of dead Israelis will reconcile the contradictions of Islam and rebuild the Caliphate. Hitler and Stalin couldn’t make socialism work no matter how many Jews they killed. And no matter how many Jewish children he drowned, an ancient Pharaoh could never escape the fact that he wasn’t a god.

The Jews whom John Earnest came to kill had a secret. But it did not involve international finance, war or global conspiracies. It was a story of redemption for a man about to damn himself forever.

The end of Passover marks the splitting of the sea. As the waters parted, the Jewish slaves fled into the depths, expecting death, as the Egyptian armies closed on them. In the hall of Chabad of Poway, a few Jews fled, bleeding, with children in their arms, expecting death. Instead, miraculously, they were saved.

And Pharaoh watched, unbelieving, as suddenly a higher power made Its presence known in this world.

“American Taliban” John Walker Lindh started as a hip-hop critic and wannabe Malcom X.

Next month John Walker Lindh will gain release from federal prison in Terre Haute, Indiana, after a 20 year sentence for fighting with the Taliban in Afghanistan after the 9/11 attacks. Americans may know little about Jihad Johnny’s service for the Taliban, and less about his career as a fake hip-hop critic.

“Lindh, now 25, has largely disappeared from public attention since his imprisonment in October 2002,” wrote Philip Sherwell in a 2006 Telegraph piece headlined “The New Malcolm X?”  In prison Lindh was known as “Hamza” and commanded such stature that “religious advisor” Shakeel Syed told him that he could become “the new Malcolm X.”

In upscale Marin County, California, Lindh attended the elite “alternative” Tamiscal High school. After seeing the 1992 Spike Lee movie Malcolm X, Lindh converted to Islam and began using the name “Suleyman.” That was hardly the student’s only affectation, as James Best confirmed in “Black Like Me,” a 2003 article in Oakland’s East Bay Express, subtitled “John Walker Lindh’s hip-hop daze.”

Under the name Mustafa Naim Mujahid, Lindh wrote online that he was “born in Chocolate City,” Washington DC, and “raised in its vanilla suburbs.” Under the pseudonym “John Doe” he wrote “an excoriating lyrical tirade against rappers of every variety, from Too $hort to Sista Souljah to Marley Marl.” As Best notes, the Lindh was especially cruel to rappers he believed to have gone pop and thereby compromised their blackness.

In his internet texts, Lindh identified himself as an African American in an online hip-hop newsgroup “in order to lecture and reproach African Americans for rap lyrics and discussions.” In an online group devoted to Islam, Lindh recast himself as “Mr. Mujahi” the Muslim “holy warrior” and “sermonized on the tenets of strict fundamentalist Islam.” He was also Prof. J., “the Koranic scholar and anti-Zionist.”

According to Best, Lindh was “intellectually in debt to the black nationalist strain of hip-hop whose influence peaked in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s.” This strain was “elementally informed by the Nation of Islam, the 5 Percent Nation of Gods and Earths and, to a lesser and mostly symbolic extent, the Black Panther Party.”

The Nation of Islam influence explains Lindh’s charge against Masta Ace whose, “simple rhymes are crafted to make money for the grafted,” As Best explains, the term “grafted” is a reference to “the Nation of Islam’s racial creation mythology, which positions Africans as ‘original’ and whites as direct descendants of a mad scientist named Yakub, who was exiled from Africa for his deviousness and concocted the white race in a laboratory as revenge.”

Lindh was “clearly obsessed with race,” and his theme was “the corruption of blackness and African-American identity through black avarice and white influence.” He applied to Dr. Dre “a favorite analogy of Nation of Islam-era Malcolm, that of the ‘field slave’ as revolutionary, and the ‘house slave’ as servile and bought-off.”

In the view of Lindh, Dr. Dre was a “sellout house nigga living honkey dory.” And as Lindh wrote of Dre’s Death Row record label:

Make a buck and making ten for Bubba Jimmy Jethrow. 
Exploitation that’s been spread from the plantation
To the so-called “black radio stations” tests my patience. 
Spreading stereotypes to give a chuckle to Caucasians.

And so on. As Best recalled, “Lindh aspired to become a hip-hop musician himself.” Instead he moved on to Yemen then Afghanistan, for training in an Al-Qaeda camp. Osama bin Laden his own self swung by and thanked them all for taking part in the jihad.  After Walker Lindh’s capture, a reporter asks “And did you enjoy the jihad? I mean, was it a good cause for you?” Jihad Johnny replied, “definitely,” and he was on record that jihad is “the goal of every Muslim.”

John Walker Lindh was a bust in his online Black Like Me, and despite efforts, he was not the new Malcolm X. The high-concept film for this guy would be something like From Airhead to Towelhead. On the other hand, the story is much more than a comedy.

According to his father Frank Lindh, a wealthy corporate lawyer, “John loves America.” With no apology to Frank, those who love America do not join Islamic jihadist movements and fight against America.

“He was a soldier in the Taliban,” the jihadist’s attorney James Brosnahan helpfully clarified. “He did it for religious reasons. He did it as a Muslim, and history overcame him,” with deadly consequences.

In the uprising during which Lindh was captured, CIA man Johnny Spann was killed. His widow, Gail Spann, told reporters “I do not want him [Lindh] out.” Many relatives of jihad victims feel likewise, but Lindh is still slated for release on May 23.  The still-militant “American Taliban,” now 38, plans to head for Ireland, but says he knows “virtually nothing” about the Irish government. For their part, the Irish may wonder what their newly minted citizen is all about.

Just so they know, he’s the guy who left America, became a jihadist, and fought against America. Before that, he was the online critic, influenced by the Nation of Islam, who decried the “grafted” and branded the African American Dr. Dre a “sellout house nigga living honkey dory.”

Η Ουάσιγκτον υποστηρίζει ότι το αντιπυραυλικό σύστημα θα μπορούσε να υπονομεύσει τα μαχητικά της F-35. Η Άγκυρα απαντάει ότι μια ομάδα εργασίας θα μπορούσε να αξιολογήσει τον αντίκτυπο των S-400 στα μαχητικά, ωστόσο την Παρασκευή ανέφερε ότι δεν είχε νέα από τους Αμερικανούς.

Σύμφωνα με την τουρκική προεδρία, Ερντογάν και Τραμπ αντήλλαξαν επίσης απόψεις για τις τελευταίες εξελίξεις στη Συρία, ενώ συμφώνησαν να συνεχίσουν τη συνεργασία στον τομέα της αντιτρομοκρατίας.

ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi has appeared on camera for the first time in five years – since the declaration of the Caliphate.

The Islamic State’s propaganda outlet  al-Furqan released the video on Monday evening.

The 47-year-old evasive leader was looking older, greyer, but relatively healthy in the video and he spoke for about 18 minutes discussing recent events that has befallen the Islamic State. The leaders’ assault weapon was also purposely visible in the video.

Sitting around him are other members of ISIS who all have their faces covered.

During the video he mentions the Islamic caliphate after the battle for Baghouz – the final ISIS strong hold to have fallen in Syria. He begins the speech making it clear that he is aware that the battle for Baghouz has ended.  He also went on to speak the end of physical caliphate of the Islamic State.

In his speech, he praises the recent terror attacks in Sri Lanka, which targeted churches and hotels and left more than 250 people dead.

In 2015, it was reported that he was seriously wounded during  an attack by the US-led coalition, who also suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure.

For some time, there were also rumors that Baghdadi’s had been killed with ISIS terrorist believing, as more and more defeats befell them, that their ideological leader had abandoned their cause.

Baghdadi was last seen in a viral video in 2014 giving a sermon in the Great Mosque of al-Nuri, in Mosul, Iraq. This came just a month after Mosul fell into the hands of ISIS and the Iraqi army was defeated.

World military spending grows to $1.8 trillion, new SIPRI data

Total world military expenditure rose to $1822 billion in 2018, representing an increase of 2.6 per cent from 2017, according to new data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). The five biggest spenders in 2018 were the United States, China, Saudi Arabia, India and France, which together accounted for 60 per cent of global military spending. Military spending by the USA increased for the first time since 2010, while spending by China grew for the 24th consecutive year. The comprehensive annual update of the SIPRI Military Expenditure Database is accessible from today at www.sipri.org.

Total global military spending rose for the second consecutive year in 2018, to the highest level since 1988—the first year for which consistent global data is available. World spending is now 76 per cent higher than the post-cold war low in 1998.* World military spending in 2018 represented 2.1 per cent of global gross domestic product (GDP) or $239 per person. ˜In 2018 the USA and China accounted for half of the world’s military spending,™ says Dr Nan Tian, a researcher with the SIPRI Arms and Military Expenditure (AMEX) programme. ˜The higher level of world military expenditure in 2018 is mainly the result of significant increases in spending by these two countries.™

The USA and China lead increase in world military expenditure

US military spending grew—for the first time since 2010—by 4.6 per cent, to reach $649 billion in 2018. The USA remained by far the largest spender in the world, and spent almost as much on its military in 2018 as the next eight largest-spending countries combined. ˜The increase in US spending was driven by the implementation from 2017 of new arms procurement programmes under the Trump administration,’ says Dr Aude Fleurant, the director of the SIPRI AMEX programme.

China, the second-largest spender in the world, increased its military expenditure by 5.0 per cent to $250 billion in 2018. This was the 24th consecutive year of increase in Chinese military expenditure. Its spending in 2018 was almost 10 times higher than in 1994, and accounted for 14 per cent of world military spending. ˜Growth in Chinese military spending tracks the country’s overall economic growth,’ says Tian. ˜China has allocated 1.9 per cent of its GDP to the military every year since 2013.’

Three decades of growth in military spending in Asia and Oceania

Military expenditure in Asia and Oceania has risen every year since 1988. At $507 billion, military spending in the region accounted for 28 per cent of the global total in 2018, compared with just 9.0 per cent in 1988.

In 2018 India increased its military spending by 3.1 per cent to $66.5 billion. Military expenditure by Pakistan grew by 11 per cent (the same level of growth as in 2017), to reach $11.4 billion in 2018. South Korean military expenditure was $43.1 billion in 2018—an increase of 5.1 per cent compared with 2017 and the highest annual increase since 2005.

˜The tensions between countries in Asia as well as between China and the USA are major drivers for the continuing growth of military spending in the region,’ says Siemon Wezeman, a senior researcher with the SIPRI AMEX programme.

Increases in Central and East European countries

Several countries in Central and Eastern Europe made large increases in their military expenditure in 2018. Spending by Poland rose by 8.9 per cent in 2018 to $11.6 billion, while Ukraine’s spending was up by 21 per cent to $4.8 billion. Spending by Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania and Romania also grew (ranging from 18 per cent to 24 per cent) in 2018.

˜The increases in Central and Eastern Europe are largely due to growing perceptions of a threat from Russia,’ said Pieter Wezeman, a senior researcher with the SIPRI AMEX programme. ˜This is despite the fact that Russian military spending has fallen for the past two years.’

At $61.4 billion, Russian military spending was the sixth highest in the world in 2018. Its spending decreased by 3.5 per cent compared with 2017.

Other notable developments

– Military spending in South America rose by 3.1 per cent in 2018. This was mainly due to the increase in Brazilian spending (by 5.1 per cent), the second increase in as many years.
– Military expenditure in Africa fell by 8.4 per cent in 2018, the fourth consecutive annual decrease since the peak in spending in 2014. There were major decreases in spending by Algeria (–6.1 per cent), Angola (–18 per cent) and Sudan (–49 per cent).
– Military spending by states in the Middle East for which data is available fell by 1.9 per cent in 2018.
– Total military expenditure by all 29 North Atlantic Treaty Organization members was $963 billion in 2018, which accounted for 53 per cent of world spending.
– The largest absolute increase in spending in 2018 was by the USA ($27.8 billion), while the biggest decrease was by Saudi Arabia (–$4.6 billion).
– Military spending in Turkey increased by 24 per cent in 2018 to $19.0 billion, the highest annual percentage increase among the world’s top 15 military spenders.
– Six of the 10 countries with the highest military burden (military spending as a proportion of GDP) in the world in 2018 are in the Middle East: Saudi Arabia (8.8 per cent of GDP), Oman (8.2 per cent), Kuwait (5.1 per cent), Lebanon (5.0 per cent), Jordan (4.7 per cent) and Israel (4.3 per cent).

Αυτοί ήσαν Στρατηγοί του ΕΣΞ!.. Να τους χαίρονται!.. Ξεφτιλισμένοι και παραδόπιστοι… σατανάδες!.. 

4. Άντε να δούμε, πλησιάζει η ημερομηνία! Θα ξεσηκωθούν οι Αλβανοί ή όχι, ώστε να ελευθερωθούν από την πολιτική ΜΑΦΙΑ που τους κυβερνάει και δεν τους αφήνει να “ανοίξουν τα φτερά τους”, για μια νέα ΕΥΡΩΠΑΪΚΗ πορεία; 

– Θα τολμήσουν κάποιοι να συζητήσουν, έστω, την Ελληνο–Αλβανική Ομοσπονδία, αφού μέχρι την γραμμή Τίρανα – Δυρράχιο, “μιλάμε” για Έλληνες και για εξισλαμισμένους ελληνικής καταγωγής Αλβανούς!..
