Αρχιμανδρίτης ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΙΟΣ ΝΟΥΦΡΑΚΗΣ

Τον έμαθαν από εμάς, αλλά τον… “σακάτεψαν”, στην καλή τους προσπάθεια να τον παρουσιάσουν!

Τον αναφέρει ο Στρατηγός Λέων ΒΑΚΚΑΣ, στο έργο του: “Ο ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΙΟΣ ΒΕΝΙΖΕΛΟΣ ΩΣ ΣΤΡΑΤΙΩΤΙΚΟΣ ΗΓΕΤΗΣ“!..

“Πάρτε” λοιπόν σήμερα μια “καλή” -εκτιμώ- περίληψη του βίου του μεγάλου αυτού Έλληνος Ανδρός!

Γεννήθηκε το 1874 στο χωριουδάκι ΑΛΩΝΕΣ, στο Ρέθυμνο, ένα χωριό στις υπώρειες του βουνού Κρυονερίτης, από φτωχή και ευσεβή οικογένεια.

Το κοσμικό του όνομα δεν είναι γνωστό, λόγω της ελλείψεως σχετικών ληξιαρχικών εγγράφων.

Ο πατέρας του Σπυρίδων είχε διακριθεί στους επαναστατικούς αγώνες, κατά των Τούρκων στην Κρήτη.

Το επίθετο της οικογενείας του, κατά μία εκδοχή, σχετίζεται με τον μικρό Ναό του Οσίου Ονουφρίου, που βρίσκεται στο χωριό, όπου ίσως κάποιος πρόγονός του διακονούσε, ενώ κατ’ άλλη εκδοχή ο διάκονος αυτός ονομαζόταν Ονούφριος (Νούφρης), δίνοντας έτσι, στα παιδιά του, το υποκοριστικό του ονόματός του ως επίθετο, κατά το παλιό Κρητικό έθιμο..

Τα πρώτα του γράμματα τα έμαθε στην Ι. Μονή “Προφήτου Ηλιού”, των Ρούστικων, Μονή που αποτελούσε σημαντικότατο “Πνευματικό Κέντρο”, της περιοχής.

Λέγεται ότι εγκατέλειψε την Κρήτη, μετά από ένα ατυχές περιστατικό τραυματισμού ενός συγχωριανού του. Τότε έφυγαν από τις Αλώνες όλοι οι συγγενείς του, οι οποίοι κατέληξαν (οι 9 στους 10) στα Σφακιά, όπου και συναντά και σήμερα κανείς εκεί Νουφράκηδες ή… ίχνη τους!.. Καταλάβατε!..

Ταξίδεψε στο Άγιο Όρος, στην Αθήνα και στην Πόλη! Στο διάστημα αυτό εκάρη Μοναχός και έλαβε το όνομα Παϊσιος.

Το 1911 απεφοίτησε από την Θεολογική Σχολή Αθηνών, παρά τις αναρίθμητες δυσκολίες της ζωής του και ως Θεολόγος άρχισε να διδάσκει σε Σχολείο στην Αιτωλοακαρνανία.

Το 1912 και μετά από συνεχείς και επίμονες προσπάθειές του και αιτήσεις, κατετάγη στον ΕΣ ως “Εθελοντής Ιεροκήρυκας”, συμμετέχοντας έτσι στους Βαλκανικούς Πολέμους (Α’ και Β’), έχοντας τον βαθμό του Αρχιδιακόνου! Διεκρίθη στην μάχη των Γιαννιτσών, κατά των Οθωμανών, αλλά αργότερα και κατά των Βουλγάρων, στο Σκρα!

Με το τέλος του Πολέμου μονιμοποιήθηκε στις ΕΕΔ ως Στρατιωτικός Ιερεύς, προήχθη σε Αρχιμανδρίτη και ονομάστηκε Ελευθέριος, προς τιμήν των υπέρ της ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΙΑΣ του ΕΘΝΟΥΣ αγώνες, αλλά και προς τιμήν του ΕΘΝΑΡΧΟΥ ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΙΟΥ ΒΕΝΙΖΕΛΟΥ.

Στις 19-01-1919, ο ε/Στόλος, με τον “ΑΒΕΡΩΦ” ως Ναυαρχίδα, αγκυροβόλησε στον Βόσπορο, όταν η σκλάβα ακόμα σήμερα (567 χρόνια, από της αλώσεως) ε/Πρωτεύουσα, η Πόλη περιήλθε υπό τον έλεγχο της “ΑΝΤ-ΑΝΤ”, αμέσως με την λήξη του Α’ Π. Π. και την διάλυση της “Οθωμανικής Αυτοκρατορίας”, αναμένοντας να αναχωρήσει για την Οδησσό, προκειμένου να συμμετάσχει στην καταστολή του Μπολσεβικικού πραξικοπήματος (“κόκκινοι σκούφοι”), κατά της νομίμου δημοκρατικής ρ/Κ-Β του Κερένσκι (“λευκοί σκούφοι”), στο πλαίσιο των σχεδίων της ελληνικής διπλωματίας, λέγε με Ελ. ΒΕΝΙΖΕΛΟΥ. (Στείλαμε τότε 1 Σύνταγμα).

Ο Νουφράκης, αντίκρυσε από το πλοίο το όραμα της ε/Φυλής, την ΑΓΙΑ ΤΟΥ ΘΕΟΥ ΣΟΦΙΑ!

Τα αμέσως επόμενα χαράματα, ο Νουφράκης μαζί με τον Ταξίαρχο ΦΡΑΝΤΖΗ, τον Τχη ΛΙΑΡΟΜΑΤΗ, τον Λγο ΣΤΑΜΑΤΙΟΥ και τον Υπλγο ΝΙΚΟΛΑΟΥ, με βάρκα ενός Ρωμιού της Πόλης, αποβιβάσθηκαν κοντά στην εκκλησία και ακολούθως, μέσα από τα στενά, έφτασαν σε μια από τις μικρές εισόδους του Ιερού αυτού ΠΑΓΚΟΣΜΙΟΥ ΝΑΟΥ του ΧΡΙΣΤΙΑΝΙΣΜΟΥ και της ΟΡΘΟΔΟΞΙΑΣ, εισερχόμενοι σ’ αυτόν με φόβο Θεού και δακρυσμένοι, κατά το:

“Εισελεύσομαι εις τον Οίκον σου, προσκυνήσω προς Ναόν άγιόν Σου εν φόβω… “!..

Ο Αρχιμανδρίτης εντόπισε τον χώρο της Αγίας Τραπέζης, έβαλε εκεί ένα μικρό τραπέζι και πάνω σ’ αυτό τα ιερά σκεύη, φόρεσε το πετραχήλι και ξεκίνησε να λειτουργεί, με ψάλτη τον Ταγματάρχη. Όλα έγιναν κατά το τυπικόν της Ορθοδόξου Καθολικής Εκκλησίας μας!..

Κάποιοι που τους είχαν δει να μπαίνουν στο Ναό, διέδωσαν γρήγορα το νέο στην Πόλη και κάπου εκεί “που έβγαιναν τα Άγια” η “ΜΕΓΑΛΗ ΕΚΚΛΗΣΙΑ” άρχισε να γεμίζει σιγά – σιγά από Έλληνες και Τούρκους, ενώ στο “Τα Σα εκ των Σων Σοι προσφέρομεν” είχε έλθει και ο… τελευταίος!..

[Θυμίζω ότι κατά την παράδοσή μας, η λειτουργία, το 1453, είχε σταματήσει “στα Άγια”, όταν τότε είχαν εισέλθει στον Ναό μας οι Οθωμανοί του Μεχμέτ του Β’!.. Άρα, η λειτουργία, που ανέμενε ο σκλάβος ΕΛΛΗΝΙΣΜΟΣ επί 400 χρόνια (και 500 κάποιες περιοχές) έγινε! Το μόνον που έμεινε / μένει να υλοποιηθεί (… “έρχεται”), είναι το “… σώπασε Κυρά ΔΕΣΠΟΙΝΑ και μην πολυδακρύζεις, πάλι με χρόνους με καιρούς, πάλι δικά μας θα ΄ναι”]!..

Τελικά η λειτουργία ολοκληρώθηκε, μετά από 466 χρόνια, έστω και βιαστικά, ενώ σημειώνεται πως όλοι οι Έλληνες Αξκοί κοινώνησαν! (Έγινε και κατάλυση, κανονικά)!..

Οι Έλληνες στρατιωτικοί έφυγαν μετά βιαστικά από την Αγία του Θεού Σοφία, διότι ο τ/όχλος άρχισε να κινείται επιθετικά εναντίον τους, απειλουμένης μιας ενόπλου συρράξεως!.. Οι 5 Έλληνες έφτασαν, μετά από λίγο, με περιπετειώδη τρόπο, στο πλοίο τους.

Η υπόθεση είχε συνέχεια, καθ’ όσον έλαβε διπλωματικές διαστάσεις!..

Συγκεκριμένα η Οθωμανική Διοίκηση παραπονέθηκε -σφόδρα διαμαρτυρόμενη- στην “ΑΝΤ-ΑΝΤ”, με αποτέλεσμα ο Π-Θ Ε. ΒΕΝΙΖΕΛΟΣ να βρεθεί σε δύσκολη θέση και έτσι να μην δοθεί μεγάλη δημοσιότητα στο θέμα, το οποίο κυρίως διαδόθηκε “από στόμα σε στόμα” γενόμενο, ως γεγονός, ανάμεσα στους Έλληνες, ΘΡΥΛΟΣ !..

Ο ΒΕΝΙΖΕΛΟΣ, παρουσία του επικεφαλής της Ασφαλείας του ΓΡΥΠΑΡΗ και λοιπών Αξκών του, κάλεσε τον Νουφράκη και του είπε, με αυστηρό τόνο στην φωνή του: “Παπά! Ποιός κάνει πολιτική; Εσύ ή εγώ”; Και γράφει ο Βακκάς! (Ήταν μπροστά)!.. “Όλοι τότε είδον δάκρυον τρέχον στα σεπτάς παριάς του σεμνού Ιερέως, ο οποίος επολέμη εις την “Πρώτην Γραμμήν”, από του 1912″!.. (Σας το γράφω και δακρύζω και εγώ τώρα)!.. “Εσείς Πρόεδρε”, απάντησε ο Αρχιμανδρίτης!..

Τότε ο Βενιζέλος, ο οποίος είχε δει και αυτός τα δάκρυα του Νουφράκη, διέταξε όλους τους δικούς του να εξέλθουν του Γραφείου του, πλην του ΓΡΥΠΑΡΗ (δεν τον άφηνε ποτέ μόνον τον ΕΘΝΑΡΧΗ ο Ρεθύμνιος στρατιωτικός), και γυρνώντας προς τον Ιερέα, του είπε: “Ε, Παπά Λευτέρη! Μακάρι να ‘χα άλλους 5 σαν εσένα” ! Αμέσως μετά του είπε να αποχωρήσει!..

Τα επόμενα χρόνια ο Παπα-Νουφράκης πολέμησε στην Κριμαία, αλλά έφτασε μέχρι και τον Σαγγάριο, κατά την Μ. Ασιατική εκστρατεία, τραυματιζόμενος σοβαρά στην μάχη του “Toplu Pınar” [“Τοπλού Π(ιου)νάρ” (Στο αριστερό πλευρό, όπως επετίθετο ο Κεμάλ)! Ουσιαστικά επρόκειτο για την τελευταία Ε–Τ συμπλοκή, προ της τελικής προελάσεως των τ/”Εθνικιστικών Στρατευμάτων”, προς την Σμύρνη των Ελλήνων]!..

Η ακολουθήσασα Κ/Φ σημάδεψε την ψυχή του Αρχιμανδρίτου!

Το 1934 αποστρατεύθηκε, διαμένοντας σε ένα μικρό σπιτάκι στους Αμπελοκήπους, των Αθηνών.

Στο Έπος του 1940, ο μαχητής αυτός του ΧΡΙΣΤΟΥ και της ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ, όντας σχεδόν 70 ετών θα δηλώσει και πάλι “παρών”, ως εθελοντής!..

[Κε Μητσοτάκη βρες αμέσως τους 2… εγκληματίες Παπάδες, του Κουκακίου και τον άλλον που δεν θυμάμαι πού ακριβώς ήταν και χώστους αμέσως Φυλακή… , αφού έκαναν το λάθος να κοινωνήσουν, “εκτός εκκλησίας” και “παρά κάποια πλαϊνή εισόδω”, κάποιους Έλληνες σε… αποστάσεις μάλιστα μεταξύ τους! Κρέμασμα!.. (Τα 10 άτομα που πήγαν στον Άγιο Νικόλαο Κουκαίου ήσαν… λίγα! Αχαχαχαχαχαχα)! Μετά βάλε και τα Κανάλια να λένε και να τονίζουν ότι η “ΘΕΙΑ ΚΟΙΝΩΝΙΑ”, δηλαδή ο ΘΕΟΣ ο ίδιος… σκοτώνει!

Τέλος, “για να δέσει το γλυκό”, άσε τους Αρχιγύφτους ΒΙΛΑΝΑΚΗΔΕΣ στην Λάρισα να βγαίνουν στους δρόμους με τα αυτόματα τυφέκιά τους και τα πιστόλια τους, αφού έτσι ποιός ξέρει, ίσως πάρεις από τον Γυφτοτσίπρα, καμιά γυφτοψήφο, αφού όλοι τους αυτοί ψήφισαν τον ΣΟΡΟΣ-ΤΣΙΠΡΑ, που “βγήκες” και “εξάγνισες” από του πρώτου μηνός της εξουσίας σου, ενώ άσε και όλα τα παράνομα τζαμιά να λειτουργούν, βάζοντας 150 άρια και 300άρια μόνον στους Έλληνες, ώστε έτσι να ενισχύσουν τις ημέρες αυτές -ευκαιρία είναι άλλωστε- τα χρήματα που απαιτεί, ως ε/συνεισφορά εννοώ, η συντήρηση των ξένων στην χώρα μας, “λάθρο” και μη]!..

Στα βορειο-ηπειρωτικά βουνά, Κε… ΜΗΤΣΟΤΑΚΗ (ξανά στο κύριο θέμα μας), ο Πατήρ Ελευθέριος ΝΟΥΦΡΑΚΗΣ θα πάθει κρυοπαγήματα και τελικά στις 05-08-1941 θα “κοιμηθεί” στην Αθήνα, όντας επί 30 συναπτά έτη μπροστάρης στους εθνικούς αγώνες, έχοντας λάβει μέρος σε περισσότερες από 27 μάχες.

Την ελάχιστη περιουσία του την άφησε στο Νοσοκομείο Ρεθύμνου, στον Οίκο Τυφλών Αθηνών και στην οικογένειά του. Σήμερα τα ιερά οστά του φυλάσσονται στις Αλώνες, όπου υπάρχει και η προτομή του!

(Και τί έγινε ρε συ Π-Θ γέ μας, που πολέμησε ο Παπά-Νουφράκης, όπως και δεκάδες χιλιάδες άλλοι Ελλήνων για την Μακεδονία μας για παράδειγμα, αφού ήλθε ο λίαν πιθανώς “ΣΟΡΟΣ-ΑΔΕΛΦΟΣ” σου, ο “Ελλαδο-Υποθηκευτής” Διεθνιστής Τσίπρας και την χάρισε “αέρα”, λες και ήταν του… πατέρα του, στους Αλβανο-Σλάβους; Εσύ ξεκινάς μάλλον με την παράδοση της Β. Ηπείρου στους Αλβανούς, αφού δεν έβγαλες “κιχ” με τα όσα κάνει τώρα εκεί ο Ράμα και μετά ίσως πεις και… “HOŞ GELDİNİZ PAŞALAR”, εύχομαι όχι!.. Για τους Αλβανούς και τί θα έχουμε σε λίγο και στα ΒΔ σύνορά μας θα σου γράψω σύντομα! Συντονίσου)!..

ΑΥΤΟΣ ΗΤΑΝ… ΙΕΡΩΝΥΜΕ ΛΙΑΠΗ ΚΑΠΟΤΕ, ΚΑΙ ΓΙΑ ΑΙΩΝΕΣ ΠΟΛΛΟΥΣ, Ο ΚΛΗΡΟΣ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ, ΑΥΤΟΣ ΠΟΥ ΤΑΥΤΙΣΕ ΤΟΝ ΟΡΟ “ΕΛΛΗΝΑΣ” ΜΕ ΤΟ “ΧΡΙΣΤΙΑΝΟΣ”!, ΚΑΤΙ ΠΟΥ ΑΠΟΤΥΠΩΣΕ ΠΑΝΩ ΣΤΟ ΙΕΡΟ ΤΟΥ… ΠΑΝΙ, ΠΑΝΩ ΣΤΗΝ ΑΙΜΑΤΟΒΑΜΜΕΝΗ ΣΗΜΑΙΑ ΤΟΥ!..

ΜΟΝΟΝ Η ΣΚΛΑΒΑ ΔΗΜΗΤΣΑΝΑ ΑΡΧΙ-ΔΕΣΠΟΤΑ “ΕΒΓΑΛΕ” 2, 3 ΠΑΤΡΙΑΡΧΕΣ ΚΑΙ ΚΑΜΙΑ 20 ΑΡΙΑ ΜΗΤΡΟΠΟΛΙΤΕΣ!.. ΜΕΣΑ ΣΤΗΝ ΜΑΥΡΙΛΑ ΤΗΣ ΣΚΛΑΒΙΑΣ ΒΡΕ!..

ΒΓΕΣ ΒΡΕ… ΑΓΙΕ ΑΡΧΙΕΠΙΣΚΟΠΕ ΚΑΙ ΠΕΣ ΜΕ ΣΤΕΝΤΟΡΕΙΑ ΤΗ ΦΩΝΗ ΣΟΥ ΟΤΙ ΜΟΝΟΝ ΕΥΛΟΓΙΑ ΚΑΙ ΘΕΙΑ ΧΑΡΙΣ ΜΕΤΑΦΕΡΕΤΑΙ ΣΤΟΥΣ ΠΙΣΤΟΥΣ ΜΕ ΤΗΝ ΘΕΙΑ ΚΟΙΝΩΝΙΑ! ΚΑΝΕ ΤΟΥΛΑΧΙΣΤΟΝ ΑΥΤΟ ΡΕ ΣΥ, ΕΧΕΙΣ ΞΕΥΤΙΛΙΣΤΕΙ ΠΙΑ ΔΕΝ ΤΟ ΚΑΤΑΛΑΒΑΙΝΕΙΣ;

Εικόνα «επικείμενης ένοπλης σύγκρουσης» με την Ελλάδα επιχειρεί να εμπεδώσει διεθνώς η Αγκυρα: Εχοντας εκδώσει NAVTEX (20051/20) που «ενημερώνει» την διεθνή ναυσιπλοΐα και τα τουρκικά παραπλέοντα σκάφη ότι «η Ελλάδα απειλεί την ασφάλεια των θαλάσσιων μεταφορών» (!) Τούρκοι διπλωματικοί υπάλληλοι, έχουν προβεί σε κατ’ιδίαν «ενημερώσεις» υπουργείων Εξωτερικών σε ΝΑΤΟ, ΕΕ και χώρες όπως η Κίνα ότι «Το τουρκικό Ναυτικό και η Ακτοφυλακή θα αναλάβουν να διασφαλίσουν με κάθε τρόπο την ελευθερία της ναυσιπλοΐας» στο Αιγαίο και στην Μεσόγειο»!

Τί μπορεί να σημαίνει αυτό; Μετά από δύο ημέρες χονδροειδών παραβιάσεων των ελληνικών εναέριων συνόρων και πτήσεων επάνω από ελληνικό έδαφος σε Εβρο, Λέσβο, Χίο, Οινούσσες κλπ. η Τουρκία «σπρώχνει» προς «θερμή κρίση».

Και φαίνεται ότι η πορεία της πανδημίας του κορωνοϊού είναι μία ακόμα αφορμή κι ένα καλό κίνητρο: Σε διεθνές επίπεδο, όλοι είναι απασχολημένοι με αυτό.

Πόσοι και με ποιο τρόπο από την διεθνή κοινότητα θα ασχοληθούν με μια επιθετική κίνηση της Αγκυρας που θα προκαλούσε μείζον επεισόδιο στο Αιγαίο ή στην Θράκη;

Οταν, μάλιστα, δεν ασχολήθηκαν σοβαρά με την χάραξη τουρκικής ΑΟΖ στα 6 ν.μ. ανατολικά των ακτών της Ρόδου, της Καρπάθου και της Κρήτης και άφησαν τον ΟΗΕ να αποδεχθεί τις συντεταγμένες του Μνημονίου με την Λιβύη; Κανείς, έως ελάχιστοι.

Η Γαλλία, που λόγω επικείμενης προμήθειας των φρεγατών Belharra, εμφανίζεται «πιο κοντά» στην Αθήνα, έχει άλλα προβλήματα να αντιμετωπίσει και το αεροπλανοφόρο R61 «Ντε Γκολ» επιστρέφει από την Βαλτική, μολυσμένο με κορωνοϊό.

Και κάπου 1000 νεκρούς την ημέρα στην ίδια την Γαλλία.

Η Αθήνα στις 12 Μαρτίου και με ισχύ μέχρι τις 18 Ιουνίου προχώρησε στην έκδοση μιας ΝΟΤΑΜ (0833/20) που ελάχιστοι αντιλήφθηκαν: Με την συγκεκριμένη ανακοίνωση «Απαγορεύεται η υπέρπτηση και προσγείωση στην ελληνική επικράτεια όλων των αεροσκαφών που απογειώνονται από την Λιβύη με τις εξαιρέσεις των ελληνικών κρατικών αεροσκαφών, στρατιωτικών αεροσκαφών άλλων χωρών ή κρατικών ή VIP πτήσεων που έχουν όμως την άδεια των Ελληνικών Αρχών και του Υπουργείου Εξωτερικών».

Και η απαγόρευση αυτή εμποδίζει τουρκικές πτήσεις να ακολουθήσουν το συντομότερο αεροδιάδρομο που συνδέει την Κωνσταντινούπολη με την Τρίπολη.

Στις 2 Απριλίου τουρκικό δεξαμενόπλοιο που θεωρήθηκε ύποπτο από τις ελληνικές αρχές καταδιώχθηκε από την Ακτοφυλακή στην περιοχή της Σάμου και της Ικαρίας και υποχρεώθηκε να επιστρέψει στο λιμάνι της Σμύρνης (κατ’άλλη πηγή στην Αλικαρνασσό).

Την ακριβώς επόμενη ημέρα 3 Απριλίου με την NAVTEX 20051/20 η Αγκυρα εξέδωσε τη ΝΟΤΑΜ σύμφωνα με την οποία «Στις 2 Απριλίου ένα υπό τουρκική σημαία εμπορικό πλοίο δέχθηκε πυρά από τα σκάφη της ελληνικής Ακτοφυλακής».

Το πρωΐ της Τρίτης 7 Μαρτίου ακολούθησε η έκδοση και νέας ΝΟΤΑΜ από τις τουρκικές Αρχές(Ν/W 0580/20): «Αιγαίο-Μεσόγειος. Αναγγελία προς όλους τους ναυτιλόμενους. Η Ελλάδα επανειλημμένα θέτει σε κίνδυνο τις ζωές των ναυτικών στο Αιγαίο με πρακτικές που είναι αντίθετες στο Διεθνές Δίκαιο. Ως εκ τούτου η NAVTEX 20051/20 εξακολουθεί να είναι σε ισχύ και έγκυρη.

Το τουρκικό Ναυτικό και η Ακτοφυλακή είναι έτοιμες να προστατεύσουν τις ζωές στη Θάλασσα, να διασφαλίσουν την ελευθερία της ναυσιπλοΐας και να αποτρέψει κάθε παράνομη δραστηριότητα της ελληνικής Ακτοφυλακής στη θάλασσα.

Οι Σταθμοί της Σμύρνης και της Αττάλειας θα συνεχίσουν να εκδίδουν NAVTEX για την ασφάλεια της ναυσιπλοΐας».

Α. Trump Vs. World Health Organization

How the UN ‘health’ organization carries water for communist China.

President Trump has decided to re-examine U.S. funding of the World Health Organization (WHO), which dropped the ball as the coronavirus began spreading in China and beyond. “We want to look into the World Health Organization because they really called it wrong,” President Trump said at this Tuesday’s White House Coronavirus Task Force press briefing. “They seem to be very China-centric,” he added. “That’s a nice way of saying it, but they seem to be very China-centric, and they seem to err always on the side of China.” The facts are entirely on President Trump’s side.

Taking information from China, the origin of the coronavirus outbreak, at face value, WHO’s leadership went along with China’s initial refusal to even admit human to human contamination. By the end of December 2019, Chinese authorities were already suppressing attempts by at least one brave Chinese doctor to sound a warning about the outbreak of an illness resembling severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). However, WHO turned a blind eye. In a statement issued on January 9, 2020, WHO said, “According to Chinese authorities, the virus in question can cause severe illness in some patients and does not transmit readily between people. China has strong public health capacities and resources to respond and manage respiratory disease outbreaks.”

By mid-January 2020, the human to human transmission of the coronavirus was clear to Chinese doctors on the front line. Yet, WHO still stuck with the official Chinese government’s narrative denying the obvious. On January 14, 2020, WHO tweeted, “Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel #coronavirus (2019-nCoV) identified in #Wuhan, #China.” On January 16, 2020, WHO declared, “Not enough is known to draw definitive conclusions about how it is transmitted, the clinical features of the disease, the extent to which it has spread, or its source, which remains unknown.” On January 22, 2020, the WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said, “I was very impressed by the detail and depth of China’s presentation. I also appreciate the cooperation of China’s Minister of Health, who I have spoken with directly during the last few days and weeks. His leadership and the intervention of President Xi and Premier Li have been invaluable, and all the measures they have taken to respond to the outbreak.” On January 28, 2020, Tedros and two other WHO officials met with President Xi Jinping in Beijing. “We appreciate the seriousness with which China is taking this outbreak, especially the commitment from top leadership, and the transparency they have demonstrated,” Tedros said with a straight face.

These are just the early examples of WHO’s medical malpractice. WHO’s leadership failed to ask critical questions about the origin and spread of the virus and failed to promptly undertake an independent onsite investigation by WHO’s own health professionals, with the objective of stopping the spread of the coronavirus at a time that it could have been contained. Instead, WHO unswervingly relied on the Chinese authorities’ disinformation about the coronavirus. But WHO’s medical malpractice didn’t stop there.

WHO delayed declaring the coronavirus a “public health emergency of international concern” until January 30, 2020 – waiting a full month after the first case of the virus was reported. An Emergency Committee was convened by the WHO Director-General Tedros to address the crisis. It stated on January 30 that it “welcomed the leadership and political commitment of the very highest levels of Chinese government, their commitment to transparency, and the efforts made to investigate and contain the current outbreak.”

Relying on advice from the Emergency Committee, Tedros issued his set of “Temporary Recommendations” on January 30th, which “does not recommend any travel or trade restriction based on the current information available.” Fortunately, President Trump did not listen to that portion of WHO’s advice. The president instituted very tight restrictions on travel from China into the United States on January 31, 2020. Just a few days later, Tedros committed additional medical malpractice of his own when he warned that such “restrictions can have the effect of increasing fear and stigma, with little public health benefit.” If President Trump had not acted early, many more Americans could have become infected with the virus and died. Dr. Anthony Fauci said, “One of the things we did right was very early cut off travel from China to the United States.” He called President Trump’s action “the right public health call.”

Tedros reacted defensively to President Trump’s documentable criticism of WHO’s handling of the coronavirus crisis under the director-general’s leadership.  “Not only that we said we have been doing everything we can,” he said, “but we will continue to do everything — day and night like we have been doing to save lives. We don’t want to waste time.” The problem is that WHO wasted very valuable time, allowing through its inaction the virus’s spread to turn into a worldwide pandemic. The reason, as President Trump put it, is that WHO under Tedros’s leadership seemed to “err always on the side of China.” No wonder. Tedros knows which side his bread is buttered on. He owes his job to China’s strong campaigning on his behalf.

Tedros’s willingness to carry China’s water contrasts starkly with how former WHO Director-General Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland handled the 2003 SARS outbreak in China. Not only did WHO under Dr. Brundtland’s leadership recommend travel restrictions. She criticized China’s failure to report quickly the first cases of SARS and its lack of cooperation with the international community.  “It would have been definitely helpful if the international expertise and WHO had been able to help at an earlier stage,” Dr. Brundtland said. “When I say that it would have been better, it means that I’m saying as the director general of the World Health Organisation: next time something strange and new comes anywhere in the world let us come in as quickly as possible.” China did not heed this advice when the coronavirus first reared its ugly head in Wuhan. Indeed, the Chinese government compounded the reckless behavior it had displayed back in 2003. Only this time, WHO’s current director-general is China’s apologist-in-chief. Tedros still has nothing constructive to say about China’s outrageous decision to re-open the wet markets where the coronavirus may have first been transmitted to a human being. As Michael Collins, a research associate for Asia Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations, wrote last February, “The WHO’s weak response to China’s mishandling of the COVID-19 outbreak has laundered China’s image at the expense of the WHO’s credibility… The time is ripe for clear leadership from the WHO based on science not politics.” To date, WHO’s leadership has been all about playing geopolitics for China’s benefit.

Not surprisingly, the United Nations bureaucracy is circling the wagons around WHO. After proclaiming WHO’s past accomplishments, Secretary General Antonio Guterres said cryptically, regarding the handling of the current pandemic, that “it is possible that the same facts have had different readings by different entities.” The facts speak for themselves. There is only one correct reading. WHO, under Tedro’s leadership, bungled its handling of the coronavirus crisis big time.

The Obama administration’s clueless ambassador to the UN, Samantha Power, tweeted, “We all know @realDonaldTrump will do anything to divert from the his own disastrous response to #COVID19, but cutting @WHO funding during the worst pandemic in a century would be sheer lunacy.”

Continuing the current level of U.S. funding without significant reforms in the management and operation of the World Health Organization, beginning with the immediate removal of China’s puppet Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus as WHO’s director-general, would be the height of lunacy. The United States is by far the largest funder of WHO’s budget. China’s assessed contribution  for 2020-2021 ($57,439,805) is about half of the United States’ assessed contribution for 2020-2021 ($115,766,922). The disparity in voluntary contributions to WHO is much larger. Based on data for 2018-2019, updated until the fourth quarter of 2019, China’s voluntary contributions totaled $10,184,000. The U.S. total of voluntary contributions for 2018-2019, updated until the fourth quarter of 2019, was $656,092,000. China pledged an additional $20 million to WHO in March 2020, for which Tedros went out of his way to thank the Chinese government and people.

“If it were up to me, the whole world should send China a bill for the pandemic,” Senator Lindsey Graham said last Monday. “This is the third pandemic to come out of China and they come from these wet markets where they have bats and monkeys with the virus — carrying the virus — intermingled with the food supply. Yeah, I’d make China pay big time.”

The first modest step that the United States should take with regard to WHO funding, pending further investigation, is to immediately cap U.S. voluntary contributions for 2020-2021 to no more than $30 million – the sum of China’s voluntary contributions for the last two years and its pledge of an additional $20 million this year. That would represent a cut of approximately 95 percent in voluntary contributions shelled out by U.S. taxpayers to fund the China-centric World Health Organization as it exists today.

The Coronavirus Confirms Who Our Friends – And Enemies – Are

Take heed, America, and remember this when the crisis passes.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times – although right now it just seems like the worst of times, with the world stricken either by the Chinese coronavirus itself (that’s right, I called it Chinese) or by the media-fanned panic about it. But a silver lining of any crisis, perceived or real, is that it swiftly reveals who one’s friends really are – whom you can trust when the chips are down – and that is a vital lesson for Americans to take to heart.

Conversely, of course, a crisis also exposes who one’s enemies are, and that may be an even more valuable lesson to digest. Whom has the coronavirus pandemic shown to be the enemies of the American people? Let us run down the list.

China is not your friend. More specifically, the Communist Chinese regime – not the Chinese people as a whole – is not your friend. This should come as no surprise to most Americans, but as Bill Gertz notes in his recent book Deceiving the Sky: Inside Communist China’s Drive for Global Supremacy, in past decades American governments, both Democrat and Republican, have suffered from a willful blindness about that country stemming from the false assumption that “if the United States simply conducted business with China, the Communist regime in Beijing would eventually evolve into a free market, democratic system,” and then we would be partners. Unfortunately, the plain fact is that China is driven not only to position itself as the world’s preeminent superpower, but to destroy America in the process.

The coronavirus originated in China (and may even have been weaponized in a lab; the leftist media treats this possibility as a conspiracy theory, of course) and the regime did its utmost to suppress any information about it even as countless numbers of Chinese travelers spread it abroad. For that reason, the culpability for the many thousands of coronavirus deaths worldwide, as well as the devastating economic impact, can be laid directly on the regime’s doorstep. China officially continues to deny responsibility and has even attempted to shift blame to the United States, because the left’s automatic, go-to strategy is to accuse others of that of which you are guilty.

Our willful blindness has been reinforced by the establishment news media’s obsession with Russia since 2016, which has provided recent cover for China’s dangerous ambition. Which brings us to…

The leftist news media is not your friend. American patriots have long known that the Democrat-controlled news media is the enemy of the people, never more so than during the age of Trump. Indeed, he occupies the Oval Office in large part because he relishes exposing so many so-called journalists as the leftist activists they are, and goading them into confirming their bias every day.

News propagandists at every network have disseminated Chinese disinformation about the coronavirus, whipped up hysteria about it, ignored positive developments, and steered blame toward Trump. Chuck Todd (pictured above, with Joe Biden), to name one media hack, shamefully declared that the President has “blood on his hands.” Citizens who care about the truth and about making America great again must choose from two options: tune them out or call them out. Either way, never forget that they have no interest at heart but Democrat power. And that leads us to…

The Democrat Party is not your friend – even if you are a Democrat. Again: no surprise to those on the right. But decades of Democrat lies, media complicity, ideological conformity, and demonizing of Republicans as racist troglodytes have deluded many millions of Americans into believing that Progressives are the party of hope and change, love and tolerance, flowers and unicorns.

From the very moment the coronavirus outbreak hit the news, the Democrats saw an opportunity to exploit it and weaponize it against President Trump, the man they had failed to take down first through a fruitless three-year investigation into his purported collusion with Russia, and then through a shamefully partisan stab at impeachment. They fantasized that this pandemic could be Trump’s Katrina, a disaster they could pin on him just in time for the coming election. It mattered not whether hundreds of thousands or even millions of Americans could die, as some Democrat leaders and their media enablers hysterically warned they will; what matters is that the pandemic could tank the economy, which had been booming under Trump.

In an echo of former Obama strategist Rahm Emanuel’s notorious line about never letting a crisis go to waste, House Majority Whip Rep. James Clyburn reportedly told fellow Democrats on a recent conference call, “This is a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision.” This is not a bipartisan statement of concern about American lives; this is a naked admission of the Democrat lust for power. A political party that cannot set aside partisanship in a time of crisis for the sake of the country’s citizens, but instead seizes upon that crisis to hold the country hostage in order to push its insane socialist policies through, is a party that does not care whether its citizens – Democrats included – live or die.

Globalists are not your friends. Yale historian Frank Snowden declared last month that the coronavirus pandemic “is emphatically a disease of globalization.” Globalist entities like the anti-American United Nations, the power-mad elites at the European Union, and the worthless World Health Organization, all of which resent and oppose nation-state independence, have exacerbated the pandemic by protecting China, pushing for mass migration and open borders, and condemning border security concerns as racist and fascist.

Totalitarian bureaucrats are not your friends. Low-level politicians of any party who leap at the opportunity to shut down your business as “nonessential,” keep you under house arrest, shut down gun shops while opening up prisons to avoid a potential jailhouse epidemic, and report the license plate numbers of churchgoers to officials do not have the best interests of American citizens at heart. Similarly, your fellow citizens who are eager to report you to the authorities for protesting such totalitarian decrees are also your enemies. They are all totalitarians exploiting the coronavirus as an opportunity to wield and expand their power by diminishing your rights and freedoms.

And who has proven to be our friends during this pandemic? As the late, great Fred Rogers once said, in times of trouble, there are always helpers — look for them. The helpers during this pandemic, as always, are not snarky celebrities or media talking heads or grandstanding politicians but “ordinary” Americans, everyday heroes working tirelessly and mostly anonymously to provide essential services and keep America running – sometimes literally putting their health and safety on the line: first responders, medical personnel, farmers, ranchers, truckers and the like. These are the Americans in every community you can trust, the Americans who care about their neighbors and their country.

Some corporations, too, have proven to be better friends than our political leaders and institutions. Leftists always scorn corporations and look to big government to rescue us, but in fact it has been capitalist entities that have dived into anti-coronavirus efforts with more drive and alacrity – and no bureaucratic red tape – than the government. For example, My Pillow founder and Trump friend Michael J. Lindell announced last month that 75% of his company’s production would be retooled to make cotton face masks for health care workers – a decisive action of service to his fellow Americans that the anti-Trump news media hatefully scorned as mere self-promotion. (The unhelpful media also attacked Lindell for daring to urge America to focus more during the pandemic on God and family, two anchors of our civilization that the left despises.)

Someone once noted that sports do not build character; they reveal it. It is the same with a crisis. The coronavirus pandemic has revealed, and continues to reveal, whose character is heroic, trustworthy, honorable, and compassionate, and whose is self-serving, opportunistic, and ruthless. Take heed, America, and remember this for when the crisis passes.

Η Λίβερπουλ έρχεται να προστεθεί στη λίστα με τους «μνηστήρες» για τον Έλληνα άσο, ο οποίος τείνει να γίνει ένα τρομερά «καυτό» όνομα, στο ευρωπαϊκό μεταγραφικό παζάρι! Το σημαντικό, τώρα, για τον Κώστα Τσιμίκα, αλλά και για τον Ολυμπιακό, είναι ο ποδοσφαιριστής να διατηρήσει την ψυχραιμία του, μπροστά στις προτάσεις που «ξεπηδούν», η μία μετά την άλλη και να… παίξει την μπάλα του, κυριολεκτικά (όταν αυτή ξαναρχίσει) και μεταφορικά!

Θυμίζουμε ότι Νάπολι, Ίντερ, Άρσεναλ, Τότεναμ, Λέστερ και άλλες, φέρονται να τον έχουν στη shortlist και να τον… προκρίνουν. Μένει να φανεί το αν θα κάνουν, κάποια εξ αυτών, κάποια κίνηση για να τον κάνουν δικό τους.
