Τουρκία:

Κοινωνία… Τώρα!..

Αν ερευνήσει κανείς σε βάθος την πολιτική Ιστορία της Τουρκίας και την οικονομική της όμοια, όπως αυτή διαμορφώθηκε από την πρώτη, αλλά βεβαίως και από τους μη δυνάμενους να ελεγχθούν εξωγενείς της χώρας διεθνείς πολιτικο-οικονομικούς παράγοντες, από το 1950 και μέχρι σήμερα, θα διαπιστώσει πως οι περίοδοι κατά τις οποίες ο τ/λαός είδε -ας μου επιτραπεί- “οικονομική… χαρά στα σκέλια του”, ήταν:

– Η Κ-Βκή περίοδος του ιδεολογικού (100%) προγόνου του ΡΤΕ, Αντνάν Μεντερές (ιδιαιτέρως η 1η), την 10ετία του 1950, όταν οι Η.Π.Α. “μπήκαν με τα μπούνια” στην Τουρκία (1η α/οικονομική… εισβολή) και ουσιαστικά της… πυροδότησαν την 1η μεταπολεμική, δυτικής μορφής, προϊούσας τότε ακόμα από πλευράς φιλελεύθερων χαρακτηριστικών, οικονομική “επανάσταση”.

– Η  περίοδος 1985-1990, όταν πια ο Τουργκούτ ΟΖΑΛ*, που ο Χουντάρχης Αμερικανοκίνητος Στρατηγός Κενάν ΕΒΡΕΝ (και ταυτόχρονα Αρχηγός του τότε τ/”Βαθέως Κράτους”), τον είχε επιβάλλει αρχικώς ως Υπ. των Οικονομικών και μετέπειτα ως Π-Θ (1983-1989 / ΠτΔ 1989-1993+), “έφερε” την Τουρκία στην τότε οικονομική πραγματικότητα της εποχής (φιλελεύθερη Οικονομία, υπέρμαχος των ιδιωτικοποιήσεων και τα συναφή), δημιουργώντας μια 2η οικονομική “επανάσταση”, η οποία θα μπορούσε να χαρακτηρισθεί ως η 2η μεταπολεμική αμερικανική οικονομική… εισβολή στην χώρα ή άντε -για κάποιους- δυτική… εισβολή!..

* Κατά το μάλλον ή ήττον, ο Οζάλ (ιδεολογικός -σε πολύ μεγάλο βαθμό- και αυτός πρόγονος του ΡΤΕ), θα μπορούσε να χαρακτηριστεί, ως προς τον τρόπο που εισήλθε στα τ/πολιτικά πράγματα, ως ο ο Τούρκος αντίστοιχος… Α. Γ. Παπανδρέου, με μια χρονική διαφορά βεβαίως κάπου 25 ετών, αφού τον Α. Γ. Παπανδρέου τον επέβαλε στα ε/πολιτικά πράγματα, το 1961-1962, ο Κ. Γ. Καραμανλής (μετά από πολιτική συμφωνία με τον πατέρα του Γεώργιο Παπανδρέου), ως τον εξ Αμερικής “Οικονομικό Φωτεινό Αστέρα”, που θα “σουλούπωνε”, κλπ, κλπ, κλπ, την Οικονομία της χώρας μας, όντας Πρόεδρος του σπουδαιότερου τότε 1ου και νεοσυσταθέντος “Οικονομικού Ερευνητικού Κέντρου” στην χώρα μας, του “Κέντρου Προγραμματισμού και Οικονομικών Ερευνών” (“ΚΕΠΕ”) !..

Και

– Η εικοσαετία του ΡΤΕ, πλην φυσικά των τελευταίων 2 ετών και περισσότερο, πλην της τελευταίας τρεχούσης περιόδου, ένας ΡΤΕ που έκανε οικονομικά την Τουρκία, Γερμανία των 10ετιών του 1970 και του 1980, ήτοι οικονομικά πάρα πολύ ισχυρή, δίνοντας πολύ και με… ισχύ (!) / με θετικό αντίκρισμα στην αγορά χρήμα στους Τούρκους! (Με όποιον τρόπο βεβαίως την έκανε… Γερμανία** / δεν θα το εξετάσουμε αυτό τώρα)!

** Την έκανε Γερμανία, αναλογικά πάντα, με βάση τα δεδομένα της ίδιας, δηλαδή της πολιτικο-οικονομικά “ανάδελφης” (εννοώ ως σύστημα ενός ιδιαίτερου, παγκοσμίως, Στρατοκράτους), χώρας Τουρκίας, όπως και με βάση τα ισχύοντα στις άλλες μεγάλες, θρησκευτικά όμοιες, Ισλαμικές χώρες της Μ. Ανατολής, του Καυκάσου και της Κ. Ασίας (έχει σημασία αυτό διότι το Ισλάμ είναι πολιτικο-οικονομικό-στρατιωτικο-θρησκευτικό σύστημα), όπως και στα Βαλκάνια, ισχυρή δηλαδή στην  εγγύς (!) αυτής… γειτονιά της!..

Αυτοί οι 3 παραπάνω Ισλαμιστές (!) Πολιτικοί έδωσαν, στις περιόδους τους, ζεστό χρήμα στον λαό, ενώ από πλευράς των Ρεπουμπλικανών “Κοσμικών” Κεμαλικών, αν εξαιρέσει κανείς τον Μηχανικό από την Σπάρτη Σ. ΝΤΕΜΙΡΕΛ, που και αυτός πάλι, [μην φανταστείτε (!) τίποτα ιδιαίτερο], έδωσε “κάτι” στον τ/λαό, όλοι οι άλλοι… “αγρόν ηγόρασαν”!.. ***

*** Τώρα στην Τουρκία, από την πλευρά των Κεμαλικών [αλλά και κάποιας μερίδος των Ισλαμιστών, αφού πλέον έχουν θολώσει τα πολιτικά… όρια), έχει αναδυθεί, ως ένας άλλος, πχ Οζάλ (επιλέγω αυτόν από τους 3 αναφερθέντες Ισλαμιστές, διότι ήταν / είναι ο μόνος πραγματικά οικονομικο-σπουδαγμένος Ισλαμιστής και κυρίως στις Η.Π.Α.], το παλιό Ερντογανικό “Πουλέν”, ο σπουδάσας βασικά στις Η.Π.Α. Οικονομία και όχι μόνον, Αλί ΜΠΑΜΠΑΤΖΑΝ, ο οποίος, αν και όπως εκλεγεί, κατά πως ο ίδιος λέγει, ευελπιστεί να φέρει, ίσως, ως άλλος “Ντελάλης” ή “Προπομπός” (αν και πολύ δύσκολο πια), μια 3η “Οικονομική Επανάσταση” στην χώρα!.. [Κάτι, που με βάση τα όσα έχουμε πει εδώ και γράψει, όπως πχ με βάση τις πολιτικές… προφητείες (sic) της Λωζάννης του 1923, όπως και τα σημερινά παγκόσμια πολιτικο-στρατιωτικά δρώμενα, μάλλον δεν θα επιτρέψουν, αφού η Τουρκία οδηγείται ολοταχώς στην διάλυσή της, έχουσα καταστεί… οίστρος για την Δύση και κυρίως… οίστρος για τον κυβερνώντα σήμερα τις Η.Π.Α. … Όνο των “Δημοκρατικών”]!

Φίλοι μου / μας!

Ουδείς βεβαίως Τούρκος πολιτικός, ούτε των μεν, ούτε των δε (Ισλαμιστές – Κεμαλιστές), ασχολήθηκαν ποτέ σε βάθος και με ζέση για την καλυτέρευση της “τσέπης” των Τούρκων, ούτε το ίδιο φυσικά με την Οικονομία της χώρας, αφού (σε ό,τι αφορά την Τουρκία):

α. Τα πάντα στο Ισλάμ πηγάζουν, αποφασίζονται, κατευθύνονται, ελέγχονται και υλοποιούνται από τον κάθε φορά ηγέτη της κάθε χώρας, (άρα και στην Οικονομία), οπότε όλοι οι άλλοι στην κρατική “οικονομική αλυσίδα”, είτε εκτελούν, είτε δεν ασχολούνται, λέγοντας “γιατί να ασχοληθώ, αφού άλλος αποφασίζει”,  είτε ζητούν την άδεια (sic) από τον ηγέτη να αποχωρήσουν (η έννοια της παραιτήσεως υφίσταται “τύποις”), όταν τους το ζητήσει ο ηγέτης, για τους λόγους που εκείνος εκτιμά ή πιστεύει ή όταν οι ίδιοι νοιώσουν ότι δεν μπορούν να συνεχίσουν και πάλι για τους δικούς τους λόγους!..

β. Ο τ/λαός, αποδεδειγμένα πιστός στο ΙΣΛΑΜ και σε ό,τι αυτό επιτάσσει, κλπ, είναι αποδεδειγμένα σκληρός και ικανός να αντέξει σε όποια κακουχία (και πάλι στο Ισλάμ ευρίσκεται η εξήγηση), οπότε δεν υπάρχει λόγος, πέραν μιας, και αυτή για καθαρά ψηφοθηρικούς κυρίως λόγους, έκφρασης συμπαθείας προς τον βασανιζόμενο λαό, οι όποιοι Τούρκοι πολιτικοί να πράξουν κάτι άλλο!..

Ο ΡΤΕ, [ως ο “Τουρκο-Ισλαμιστής” πια ηγέτης και όχι ως ένας απλός Ισλαμιστής, … απόλυτος, … κάθετος, κλπ, (έχουμε πει και γράψει τί είναι ο Τουρκο-Ισλαμισμός που “βασιλεύει” σήμερα στην Τουρκία, καθώς και ποιοί είναι οι κύριοι πολιτικοί στην χώρα… φορείς του, μια πολιτικο-στρατιωτικο-οικονομική, ευρασιανικής αποκλίσεως, “κλίκα” που ελέγχει την εξωτερική -κυρίως αυτή- πολιτική του Τ/ΠτΔ)], στα χρόνια της εξουσίας του έδωσε ψωμάκι πολύ και άφθονο στον λαό, έδωσε χρήμα, ενώ μεταμόρφωσε κυριολεκτικά την Τουρκία, σε ό,τι αφορά την συμβατότητα της εικόνας της με την σύγχρονη εποχή, ρίχνοντας τεράστια κονδύλια σε όλους τους τομείς της Οικονομίας, γεγονός που σημαίνει ότι διαχειρίστηκε, σε πολύ μεγάλο βαθμό, (αφού άλλωστε δεν γίνονται αλλιώς οι όποιες… μεταμορφώσεις Κρατών), κατά τον καλύτερο δυνατό τρόπο τα κρατικά όποια χρήματα!..

Αυτά που εσχάτως ακούστηκαν να λέγονται, λόγω του πολέμου που ΠΡΑΓΜΑΤΙ(!) δέχθηκε η τ/Οικονομία, από το “Διεθνές Κεφάλαιο” (έχουμε πει ποιοί είναι αυτοί οι… “Βαρώνοι” που το εκφράζουν), όπως πχ ότι “ο τ/λαός έβγαλε όσα χρήματα είχε κάτω από τα μαξιλάρια του”, κλπ, δείχνει ανάγλυφα τί έγινε στην Οικονομία επί ΡΤΕ στα 19 από τα 20 έτη της εξουσίας του! Ποτέ άλλοτε ο τ/λαός δεν είχε τόσα χρήματα, ώστε να κάνει τα μαξιλάρια του… “Τράπεζες”!.. Αρκεί όμως!..

Άρα! (Με ΚΕΦΑΛΑΙΑ ΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΑ ΤΩΡΑ)!..

ΜΗΝ ΓΕΛΙΕΣΤΕ ΛΟΙΠΟΝ ΦΙΛΟΙ, Ή ΜΗΝ ΓΕΛΑΣΤΕΙΤΕ! ΠΡΟΣΕΞΤΕ:

ΑΝ ΓΙΝΕΙ ΚΑΤΙ, ΠΧ ΕΝΑΣ Ε-Τ ΠΟΛΕΜΟΣ, (ΜΕ ή ΧΩΡΙΣ ΤΟΝ ΡΤΕ ΔΕΝ ΕΧΕΙ ΣΗΜΑΣΙΑ), Ο ΛΑΟΣ ΑΥΤΟΣ (ΤΟΥΛΑΧΙΣΤΟΝ Η ΣΥΝΤΡΙΠΤΙΚΑ ΠΙΑ ΜΕΓΑΛΗ ΙΣΛΑΜΙΣΤΙΚΗ ΜΕΡΙΔΑ ΤΟΥ / 80%+) ΘΑ ΠΟΛΕΜΗΣΕΙ ΣΑΝ ΣΚΥΛΙ, ΟΣΟ ΚΑΙ ΝΑ ΠΕΙΝΑΕΙ, ΔΙΟΤΙ:

– ΕΙΝΑΙ ΠΙΣΤΟΣ ΙΣΛΑΜΙΣΤΗΣ ΚΑΙ ΔΕΝ ΔΙΑΝΟΕΙΤΑΙ ΝΑ ΤΑ ΒΑΛΕΙ ΜΕ ΤΗΝ -ΟΠΟΙΑ- … ΕΚ ΘΕΟΥ, ΟΠΩΣ ΠΙΣΤΕΥΕΙ, ΗΓΕΣΙΑ ΤΟΥ!

– ΕΙΝΑΙ ΠΟΛΥ ΣΚΛΗΡΟΣ ΚΑΙ ΜΑΘΗΜΕΝΟΣ ΣΤΙΣ ΟΠΟΙΕΣ ΚΑΚΟΥΧΙΕΣ, ΑΚΟΜΑ ΚΑΙ ΣΤΗΝ ΑΠΟΛΥΤΟ ΔΥΣΤΥΧΙΑ!

– ΟΙ ΤΟΥΡΚΟΙ ΠΟΛΙΤΕΣ ΕΧΟΥΝ ΠΙΣΤΕΨΕΙ (ΕΥΤΥΧΩΣ ΓΙ’ ΑΥΤΟΥΣ), ΟΤΙ ΕΓΓΙΖΕΙ ΤΟ ΑΠΟΦΑΣΙΣΘΕΝ ΤΕΛΟΣ ΤΗΣ ΧΩΡΑΣ ΤΟΥΣ (Ο ΡΤΕ ΔΕΝ ΑΝΑΦΕΡΕΤΑΙ ΤΥΧΑΙΩΣ ΣΕ 2ο “ΑΓΩΝΑ ΑΝΕΞΑΡΤΗΣΙΑΣ”, ΚΛΠ).

Η ΤΟΥΡΚΙΑ (ΩΣ ΠΟΛΙΤΙΚΟ ΣΥΣΤΗΜΑ) ΕΙΝΑΙ ΣΥΜΠΑΓΗΣ ΚΑΙ ΣΚΛΗΡΗ, ΟΥΣΑ ΠΕΡΙΣΣΟΤΕΡΟ ΑΠΟ ΟΠΟΙΑΔΗΠΟΤΕ ΑΛΛΗ ΧΩΡΑ ΤΗΣ… ΔΥΣΗΣ, “ΚΑΘΑΡΗ” ΩΣ “ΕΘΝΟΚΡΑΤΟΣ”, ΟΠΩΣ Ο ΙΔΙΟΣ Ο Μ. ΦΙΛΟΙ ΜΟΥ!

Η ΤΟΥΡΚΙΚΗ ΚΟΙΝΩΝΙΑ, ΝΑΙ, ΥΠΟΦΕΡΕΙ ΤΩΡΑ(!), ΑΛΛΑ ΑΥΤΟ ΤΗΣ ΔΙΝΕΙ ΠΕΡΙΣΣΟΤΕΡΗ ΔΥΝΑΜΗ (ΕΞΗΓΗΣΑ ΗΔΗ ΤΟ “ΓΙΑΤΙ”), ΚΑΘΙΣΤΩΝΤΑΣ ΤΟ ΞΕΨΥΧΟΝ Τ/ΘΗΡΙΟ ΠΟΥ ΛΕΓΑΜΕ ΚΑΙ ΓΡΑΦΑΜΕ, ΑΚΟΜΑ ΠΙΟ ΕΠΙΚΙΝΔΥΝΟ, ΠΡΟ ΤΟΥ ΤΕΛΟΥΣ ΤΟΥ!..

Η ΤΟΥΡΚΙΚΗ ΚΟΙΝΩΝΙΑ ΔΕΝ ΕΙΝΑΙ ΑΝΟΗΤΗ ΚΑΙ ΔΕΝ ΠΡΕΠΕΙ ΝΑ ΥΠΟΤΙΜΑΤΑΙ! ΞΕΡΕΙ ΠΟΛΥ ΚΑΛΑ ΤΟ ΠΟΙΟΣ ΕΙΝΑΙ ΚΑΙ ΚΥΡΙΩΣ ΤΙ ΤΗΣ ΠΡΟΣΦΕΡΕ, ΟΛΑ ΑΥΤΑ ΤΑ 20 ΧΡΟΝΙΑ, Ο ΡΤΕ (68 ΕΤΩΝ ΠΛΕΟΝ ΤΟΝ ΦΕΒ. ΤΟΥ 2022)! ΑΥΤΟΣ ΕΙΝΑΙ Ο ΛΟΓΟΣ ΠΟΥ Ο ΡΤΕ, ΜΕΤΑ ΑΠ’ ΑΥΤΑ ΤΑ 20 ΧΡΟΝΙΑ, ΕΧΕΙ “ΔΙΚΟ” ΤΟΥ ΕΝΑ 35% ΤΟΥ ΛΑΟΥ, “ΣΑΝ ΒΟΥΑΡ”!..

Holocaust Survivors Outraged as Nazi Insurance Company Sponsors US Olympic Team

Holocaust survivor groups say Allianz owes billions of dollars to families of murdered Jews.

One of the sponsors of the Beijing Olympics and Team USA athletes is an insurance company with a history of Nazi collaboration that has lobbied Congress against paying out policies to families of Jews killed in the Holocaust.

Allianz of America, a subsidiary of the German insurance giant, is sponsoring a Team USA cross country skier and a curling team that will take part in the Beijing games. Its German parent company, Allianz SE, insured Auschwitz, Dachau, and other Nazi death camps while selling insurance policies to Jews.

Allianz of America has paid $200,000 to the firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck since 2019 lobbying on the issue of World War II-era insurance payments. The firm uses its in-house lobbying team to oppose the Holocaust Insurance Accountability Act, a bill that would allow the beneficiaries of insurance policies sold during the Holocaust era to sue European insurers in U.S. federal court.

Allianz’s history of collaborating with the Third Reich draws parallels to the Beijing Olympics, which have beendubbed the “Genocide Games” because of the Chinese government’s ongoing atrocities against Uyghurs in western China. Human rights groups such as the World Uyghur Congress have called on Allianz and other sponsors to pull out of the games, or to publicly rebuke Chinese authorities for the Uyghur genocide.

Holocaust survivor groups say Allianz owes billions of dollars to survivors and the families of murdered Jews.

“It is shameful for the United States Olympic Committee to accept sponsorship from Allianz, and shameful for the Olympics itself to participate in this cover-up of Allianz’s true history and its current unmet obligations,” said David Schaecter, president of the Holocaust Survivors Foundation USA, a national coalition of Holocaust survivors and survivor groups.

Schaecter, a Holocaust victim who had 105 family members murdered by the Nazis, said Allianz has grown into the international conglomerate it is today because of $3 billion stolen from Jews.

“Instead of honoring the insurance policies it sold to Jewish families, Allianz is sponsoring so-called charity events and spectacles like the Olympics,” Schaecter told the Washington Free Beacon.

Allianz and other Olympic sponsors are reportedly paying $2 billion to the International Olympic Committee to sponsor the games, which start on Feb. 4. All of the companies are listed as worldwide partners of Team USA. One sponsor, Airbnb, reportedly paid the International Olympic Committee $500 million to serve as a sponsor through 2028. Coca-Cola and Intel are among the American companies sponsoring the games.

Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America announced earlier this month it is sponsoring gold medalist cross-country skier Jessie Diggins and a gold medalist curling team led by John Shuster. Allianz said the athletes exemplify the company’s values of “integrity, caring, excellence, and respect.”

Allianz’s Nazi History Torpedoed Other Sponsorships

Allianz’s past sports sponsorships have fallen apart because of its Nazi past.

The company pulled out of a deal to purchase naming rights for the New York Jets and New York Giants football stadium in 2008 following protests over its ties to the Third Reich. The company dropped its sponsorship of a PGA gold tournament in 2017 after years of protest from the Holocaust Survivors Foundation USA. Allianz came under fire several years ago after the company ignored calls to cut ties with Iran over the regime’s denial of the Holocaust.

Allianz has defended its handling of Holocaust-era insurance claims. The company has touted its role forming the International Commission on Holocaust Era Insurance Claims and says it has paid more than $300 million to settle 48,000 claims.

Survivor groups say the commission’s payments are a tiny fraction of the billions of dollars still owed to Holocaust victims and their families.

“The public should know that the Nazis and their collaborators also perpetrated a massive theft against the Jewish people, and Allianz was one of the worst offenders,” Schaecter, 92, told the Free Beacon.

Allianz and Allianz of America did not respond to requests for comment. Team USA also did not respond to a request for comment.

Hamas imposes naval blockade and checkpoints throughout the Gaza Strip, aimed at capturing escapee.

An alleged double agent who worked as an operative for Hamas while providing intelligence to Israel escaped from a Gaza prison on Saturday morning, according to Hebrew-language reports.

Abed Al-Karim Abu Odeh, once a senior figure in Hamas’ military wing, has been imprisoned since 2019 on charges that he mapped the terror group’s extensive system of underground smuggling tunnels while spying for Israel.

According to reports, the escape is a massive embarrassment to Hamas, which referred to Abu Odeh as “an extremely dangerous security prisoner.”

The terror group has imposed a naval blockade aimed at preventing Abu Odeh from escaping the coastal enclave via the Mediterranean Sea, and multiple roadblocks have been set up throughout the Strip in what reports described as a “hysterical” atmosphere.

Hamas officials said they believe that Abu Odeh may attempt to cross into Israel. The group has also offered a generous cash reward for tips leading to his capture.

In a series of videos published by a senior Hamas commander, Abu Odeh is confirmed to be the man they believe responsible for sharing crtiical information about the terror group’s tunnel networks with Israeli security agencies.

During the May 2021 Israel-Gaza clash Operation Guardian of the Walls, intelligence about the locations of Hamas tunnels proved a crucial tool for the IDF.

Israel’s Air Force launched multiple air strikes against Hamas tunnels in the Strip, in order to prevent both weapons smuggling and to destroy missile stockpiles.

In December 2021, Israel completed construction of a 65-kilometer high-tech barrier running both above and below ground on the border with the Gaza Strip.

“There is no other place in the world that has built an underground barrier,” Fence Administration Director Brig.-Gen. Eran Ofir said at the opening ceremony. “It was a very complex project, both operationally and engineering-wise.”

The barrier took three and a half years to complete and cost an estimated $1 billion.

In the Netherlands, it’s ‘Civilized’ to Empower Terrorists

How a jihadist entered the inner ranks of the Dutch ruling party.

Her name is Soumaya Sahla. Born in The Hague in 1983 to Moroccan immigrants (her father was the founder of a mosque in that city), she joined a jihadist terror organization, the Hofstad group, at a young age, and along with another member of the group, Noureddine el Fahtni, to whom she’d been married in an Islamic ceremony, acquired an Agram 2000 submachine gun, which they were reportedly planning to use, at the direction of the leaders of the Hofstad group, to kill various politicians. Among their intended victims were Geert Wilders, then a relatively new member of the Dutch lower house, the Tweede Kamer, who’d made a name for himself as a critic of the Islamization of the Netherlands, and the Somali-born Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who’d rejected her Muslim faith after 9/11 and been elected to the Tweede Kamer in 2002.

The year was 2005. The previous few years had been a busy time for assassination and assassination plots. On May 6, 2002, nine days before a general election from which he was expected to emerge as prime minister of the Netherlands, Pim Fortuyn had been murdered by an activist named Volkert van der Graaf who was appalled by his criticisms of Islam. In the summer of 2004, Sahla’s husband, Fahtni, had been arrested in Portugal on suspicion of planning to kill that country’s then prime minister, José Manuel Durão Barroso, but there had not been sufficient evidence to hold him. A few months later, on the morning of November 2, 2004, a fellow member of the Hofstad group, Mohammed Bouyeri, had slaughtered the celebrated writer and filmmaker Theo van Gogh – perhaps the Netherlands’ most prominent critic of Islam – on a busy street in Amsterdam.

Sahla and Fahtni’s plans, however, did not prove as successful as Bouyeri’s. On June 22, 2005, they were both arrested by Amsterdam police.

Fahtni ended up serving six months. Sahla spent nine years in and out of court. First, she was convicted by a Rotterdam court of illegally possessing weapons and of membership in a terrorist organization with the intent to commit murder. Later, the Court of Appeal in The Hague found her guilty, in addition, of planning to murder Wilders and others. In 2011, however, the Supreme Court annulled that ruling and transferred the case to the Amsterdam Court of Appeal, which in 2014 found Sahla guilty of membership in a terrorist organization and possession of firearms but not of intention to kill anybody. Although sentenced to three years, she didn’t have to spend any time in prison because of the time she’d already served in detention.

During that long trial period, Sahla had studied political science, African Studies, and Islamic theology. She’d also, curiously enough, become the protegée of Frits Bolkestein, a legendary figure in the center-right VVD (People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy). As the newspaper Het Parool put it the other day, Bolkestein “led her into the party” in 2011 – that is, while her case was still under adjudication – “unseen and without causing a fuss.” It’s been established that Bolkestein knew about her history. So did other VVD leaders. Not one of them, apparently, considered it a reason not to give her a responsible party position. Sahla began her career in the VVD as head of its deradicalization and terror group; as of the beginning of this year, she’d risen in the party ranks to become – simultaneously – head of the VVD’s security and justice division, chair of a party advisory committee on deradicalization and terror, and “right-hand” woman to Bolkestein.

It’s worth noting that the current head of the VVD, Mark Rutte, is also prime minister of the Netherlands, a position he has held since 2010.

Not until January 18 of this year did Sahla’s past become a problem. On that day, during a discussion in the Tweede Kamer, the lower house of the Dutch parliament, Wilders, who since 2006 has been head of the PVV (Freedom Party) and who since 2004 has had to live with round-the-clock security owing to jihadist death threats, raised the subject of Sahla, saying that someone who’d been issued a gun with which to kill him and Ayaan Hirsi Ali had no business in a  leading position in the country’s ruling party. Wilders also mentioned Sahla’s sister Fonda, who, as it happens, is a politician for the centrist D66 and a colleague of Wilders’s in the Tweede Kamer, where she routinely wears a hijab.

Did representatives from other parties join Wilders in expressing outrage over the VVD’s employment of a woman who’d actively sought his death? No. They protested his bad manners. Rutte, obviously a man of exquisite sensitivity, said Wilders’s behavior had been uncivilized.

Still, the VVD knew this didn’t look good for them. On January 23, Claudia Kammer wrote in NRC Handelsblad that in the wake of Wilders’s criticism, VVD felt “ongemak” – discomfort – about her role in the party. (Not profound shame or self-disgust or a sense of mortification – discomfort.) On January 25, VVD was described as “embarrassed.” Part of the problem for the VVD was that Sahla had never really disavowed her terrorist history. On the contrary, in a 2019 interview with the newsmagazine Elsevier she’d called the long years of legal actions against her a “show trial.” It’s also relevant to note that in the last few years, when not seeing to her VVD duties, Sahla has been engaged in Ph.D. research, her objective being to determine whether “liberal Western thinking” is preferable to the “orthodox world view” of Islam. In other words, Sahla still doesn’t seem to have figured out whether she’s put the ideology of jihad behind her.

Well, she’ll have more time hereafter to ponder that question. On January 26, after a few days of intense intraparty debates, Sahla quit her position at the VVD – but not her party membership – and, for the first time, explicitly professed to regret her terrorist background. In an op-ed for NRC Handelsblad, Gerard Spong, a lawyer in Amsterdam, lamented her resignation, saying that Wilders had “overdramatized” the situation and criticizing both Wilders and VVD leaders for failing to recognize that “in a constitutional state, a convict who has served his/her sentence and who has been rehabilitated cannot be punished twice for a wrong step in the past.” Spong compared Sahla to Nelson Mandela: “He was also convicted of participating in a terrorist organization (the ANC). After 27 years in prison, he was released and for many years held South Africa’s highest office.”

NRC Handelsblad cartoonist Siegfried Woldhek, too, considered Sahla a victim of injustice. Naming her his “woman of the week,” he complained that “three years in prison and a public expression of regret were apparently insufficient for the VVD to want to keep her on.” In an angry op-ed, Andreas Kinneging, a professor of legal philosophy and Sahla’s Ph.D. supervisor, described her as the victim of “a witch hunt” of a kind that is unworthy of “a civilized country.” The editors of the daily newspaper Trouw stood up for her, too, insisting that in a country like the Netherlands people like Sahla deserved to get “a second chance.”

This coming May 6 will be the twentieth anniversary of the assassination of Pim Fortuyn, who promised to save the Netherlands from a process of Islamization that he viewed, quite rightly, as an existential threat to the individual liberty of which the Netherlands had been a beacon for centuries. Three years after Fortuyn’s death came the butchering of Theo van Gogh. Not long afterward, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, whose criticism of Islam was seen as particularly potent since she herself had been raised in the religion – was driven out of parliament and obliged to emigrate to the U.S. Since then, the struggle to preserve Dutch liberty in the face of the increasingly powerful Islamic enemy within has been led by Wilders, abetted, since 2017, by Thierry Baudet of the FvD (Forum for Democracy). But the progress made by Fortuyn two decades ago, and instantly lost by his murder, has never been recovered.

On the contrary, this beautiful little country which, two decades ago, seemed to be on the verge of a remarkable rescue from a nightmarish fate, has become steadily more Islamized – which has meant, among much else, violent crime (especially against Jews, gays, and women). It’s meant increased self-censorship and cultural appeasement. And it’s meant that Dutch citizens who have the same understanding of Islam that Fortuyn did twenty years ago are even more reviled by their nation’s elites than he was, and – as evinced by Wilders’s multiple prosecutions for hate speech – are subject to judicial punishment for voicing objective truths about the Religion of Peace.

Meanwhile, a former terrorist like Sahla has been able to walk the corridors of power for over a decade – and even now is, almost certainly, viewed by most Dutch journalists, academics, and politicians as the virtuous victim of this recent episode, while Geert Wilders, the man she planned to kill, is the villain of the piece. Given the current atmosphere in the Netherlands, it seems safe to say a couple of things: first, that Wilders hasn’t seen his last “hate speech” trial; and second, that Sahla will soon enough find an even better job than the one she had with VVD. Because in a “civilized” country like the Netherlands, you see, involvement in Islamic terrorism is the act of a misguided soul who’s eminently deserving of forgiveness and rehabilitation (including employment on the highest level), whereas criticism of Islam is the act of an unrepentant boor whom enlightened citizens should do everything possible to marginalize, silence, and crush.

France’s Macron Tries to Reclassify Muslim Terrorism as Mental Illness

Denying Islamic terrorism is the real delusion.

There’s hardly a Muslim terrorist attack committed by a single perpetrator in Europe or America in the last five years that the authorities and the media haven’t tried to spin as mental illness.

Both Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, the Syrian Muslim mass killer who shot up a Boulder supermarket, and Faisal Akram, who took a Texas temple hostage to secure the release of ‘Lady Al Qaeda’, had their attacks blamed on mental illness.

But France continues to lead the world in whitewashing Muslim terrorism as mental illness.

When Sarah Halimi, a 65-year-old Jewish kindergarten director, was murdered by her Muslim neighbor while shouting, “Allahu Akbar”, the authorities gave her antisemitic killer a pass because his pot smoking had supposedly brought on a “psychotic” episode.

The Halimi murder had strong echoes of the previous killing of a Jewish DJ by a Muslim killer where the expert shrink had insisted that “it is not an anti-Semitic act but an act of delirium”

When Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, an ISIS Muslim terrorist, drove a truck into a Bastille Day celebration, ran over as many people as he could, and exchanged fire with police until he was killed, his family and the media insisted that he was mentally ill. “Nice Attacker Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel Wasn’t a Jihadist,” an NBC News headline blared even though Bouhlel had been collecting ISIS material and the Islamic terror group took responsibility for the attack.

“This is absolutely not an act of terrorism,” a French prosecutor insisted after another Muslim man rammed into a crowd in Dijon while shouting, “Allahu Akbar” and announced that he did so for the “children of Palestine.” The prosecutor also claimed that he had no religious motives.

These weren’t random decisions. Rather French authorities have been trying to reclassify Islamic terrorism as a psychological problem in much the same way that the Obama administration had deliberately reoriented and destroyed counterterrorism in the United States.

Former French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb had taken to claiming that a third of terrorists have “psychological issues”. This worldview is reflected by France’s FSPRT master list of Islamic Jihadists which serves as the key database for fighting domestic terrorism in France.

Now the Macron government is trying to rewire Europe’s counterterrorism the same way.

A recent memo from France to the Council of the European Union argues that the “Jihadist threat is evolving” to become “independent from terrorist organizations” and that the perpetrators only have “a tenuous or inexistent link to the radical movement” and suffer from “psychological instability or even mental disorders.”

Additionally, the French memo blames the victims of Islamic terrorism by arguing that the terrorists are triggered by the “the extremely sensitive nature of the notion of blasphemy” which can cause Muslims who are “outside of the jihadist sphere of influence to carry out attacks.”

Within a few paragraphs the French memo to the EU has managed to dismiss the entire idea that Al Qaeda, ISIS, and other Islamic terrorist groups are relevant, then the existence of Islamic terrorism as a whole, reducing it to a question of mentally ill non-terrorists who are triggered by “blasphemy” so that their brutal attacks are really the fault of their non-Muslim victims.

As an example, the French memo to the EU lists the brutal beheading of Samuel Paty, a French teacher, by a Muslim refugee furious over his use of Mohammed cartoons as a teaching tool.

President Emmanuel Macron, at the time, had appeared at the scene and blasted the horrifying murder as “a typical Islamist terrorist attack”.

“They won’t win,” he had declared.

But the EU memo suggests that like previous French presidents, Macron was playing to the crowd, and has no intention of fighting Islamic terrorism, instead he seeks to redefine it.

France currently holds the presidency of the Council of the European Union giving it even more authority than usual and the memo concludes by asking member states to agree to a “six-monthly EU threat assessment in the field of counterterrorism.”

What this amounts to is the Halimi case writ large all across Europe.

Reclassifying Muslim terrorism as mental illness has been a longstanding project of the terrorism deniers. It’s been especially popular in France which due to its laïcité secularism is even more unable and unwilling to grapple with the theological motivations of Islamic terror.

The ‘medicalization’ of terrorism is convenient because it transforms an external threat into an internal social problem which is exactly what the Europeans had been doing with Islamic terrorism for generations. Muslim terrorists can appear paranoid, delusional, and unstable, but psychiatric standards based around a 21st century European middle class urban population are a particularly poor fit for gauging what is normal for a culture entirely outside that worldview.

Whether any Muslim terrorists can indeed be diagnosed as suffering from mental illess is as relevant to the nature of the beast as the number of schizophrenic SS or NKVD killers. Totalitarian movements, whether it’s the kamikazes of Imperial Japan or the suicide bombers of Hamas, often draw on mentally unstable killers who are readier to die for the cause.

Insane people participating or even leading totalitarian movements doesn’t mean that the problem is mental illness or that it can be solved by taking a few pills a day.

The Macron government’s attempt to shift the emphasis from a religious war to psychological screening is the true delusion here. Releasing Islamic terrorists, as the French government has done, while insisting that they go to therapy sessions is a refusal to grapple with the root causes of immigration, migration, and the ‘mosqueization’ of French cities by Islamic movements.

And if France succeeds in imposing its medicalized notion of terrorism on the European Union, it will be that much harder to keep it from further corrupting American counterterrorism.
