Following is a list of major terror attacks against Israelis since September 13, 2015, the eve of Rosh Hashanah:
This is a partial list that does not include most of the daily instances of riots, rock-throwing and Molotov cocktails in which no one was hurt.
189 terror attacks took place in June. 147 attacks took place in Judea and Samaria, 41 in Jerusalem and the Green Line and 1 in the Gaza Strip. The attacks included 2 assaults with knives, 117 firebomb attacks and 42 pipe bomb attacks. There were also 11 incidents of small-arms fire and 16 arson attacks.
Three people were injured in a shooting attack at Joseph’s Tomb on 30 June.
208 terror attacks took place in May. Of these, 171 originated in Judea and Samaria and 37 in Jerusalem and the Green Line area. No terrorist attacks originated in the Gaza Strip.
Four people were killed in the May attacks; an additional six were injured:
- Three people were killed and two others wounded in a stabbing abd assault in Elad (5 May).
- A member of the security forces was killed in a shooting in Burqin (13 May).
- A member if the security forces was injured in a stabbing attack at the Damascus Gate (8 May).
- Three people were wounded (two moderately, another sustained minor injuries) from stone-throwing near Huwara (24 May).
Two hundred and sixty-eight terror attacks took place in April. Of these, 217 originated in Judea and Samaria, 42 in Jerusalem and the Green Line area and 9 in the Gaza Strip.
- 7 April: Three civilians were killed and six injured in a shooting attack in Tel Aviv.
- 29 April: A civilian was killed in a shooting attack in Ariel.
- 10 April: A member of the security forces was injured in a stabbing attack at the Tomb of the Patriarchs.
- 11 April: Two civilians were injured in a shooting attack at Joseph’s Tomb.
- 12 April: A member of the security forces was injured in a stabbing attack in Ashkelon.
- 15 April: A civilian was injured in a stabbing attack in Haifa.
The attacks in April included 187 firebomb attacks, 35 pipe bomb attacks, 17 attacks using small firearms, 11 arson attacks and 2 assaults.
One hundred and ninety terror attacks took place during March. Of these, 161 originated in Judea and Samaria. The remaining 29 originated in Jerusalem and the Green Line area.
- 22 March: Four people were killed and two injured in a ramming and stabbing attack in Beersheba
- 27 March: Two members of the security forces were killed and five others injured in a shooting incident in Hadera.
- 29 March: Five people were killed and ten wounded in a shooting attack in Bnei Brak
- 2 March: A civilian was wounded in a stabbing attack in the Palestinian town of Hizme.
- 3 March: A civilian was wounded in a stabbing attack in Hizme.
- 6 March: Two members of the security forces were injured in a stabbing attack at the Lion’s Gate in Jerusalem.
- 7 March: Two members of the security forces were injured in a stabbing attack on Jerusalem’s Temple mount.
- 8 March: Two members of the security forces were injured in a ramming attack in the West Bank town of Silat al-Harithiya.
- 19 March: A man was injured in a stabbing attack in Jerusalem.
- 20 March: A member of the security forces was injured in a stabbing attack in East Jerusalem’s Ras al-Amud neighborhood.
There were 131 firebomb attacks in March, 17 pipe bomb attacks, 14 attcks using small arms, 16 arson attempts, 1 vehicualr attack and 7 assaults.
One hundred and eighty-seven terror attacks took place during February 2022. Of these, 171 originated in Judea and Samaria and 15 in Jerusalem and the Green Line area and 1 in the Gaza Strip.
A civilian was injured in a stone throwing attack in Binyamin on 28 February; there were no fatalities.
The attacks included 136 firebomb attacks, 1 stone throwing attack, 29 pipe bomb attacks, 14 incidents of small-arms fire and 5 arson attacks.
One hundred and forty-one terror attacks took place during January 2022. Of these, 116 originated in Judea and Samaria and 25 in Jerusalem and the Green Line area. There were two non-fatal casualties.
11 January: A member of the security forces was injured in a vehicle attack in Halamish
13 January: A civilian was wounded in an assault and arson attack in Tel Sheva
There were of 101 firebomb attacks, 17 pipe bomb attacks, 6 incidents of small-arms fire, 11 arson attacks, 1 vehicular attack and 1 assault.
One hundred and thirty-seven terror attacks took place during December 2021. Of these, 113 originated in Judea and Samaria, 23 in Jerusalem and the Green Line area and 1 in the Gaza Strip. One civilian was killed, there were six non-fatal casualties.
- 16 December: A civilian was killed and two others were injured in a shooting attack in Homesh
- 4 December: A civilian was wounded in a stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem.
- 6 December: A member of the security forces was injured in a vehicle attack at Te’enim Checkpoint
- 8 December: A woman was injured in a stabbing attack at Sheikh Jarrah
- 18 December: A civilian was wounded in a stabbing attack at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron
There were of 107 firebomb attacks, 11 pipe bomb attacks, 6 incidents of small-arms fire, 2 vehicular attacks and 5 assaults.
One hundred and forty-two terror attacks took place in November. Of these, 100 originated in Judea and Samaria and 42 in Jerusalem and the Green Line area. One person was killed, there were eight other non-fatal casualties.
- 21 November: One civilian was killed, two others were wounded and two members of the security forces were injured in a shooting attack in the Old City of Jerusalem.
- 17 November: Two members of the security forces were injured in a stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem.21 November: A civilian was injured in a stabbing attack in Jaffa. In a separate incident, a member of the security forces was injured in a firebomb attack in Jerusalem.
There were of 94 firebomb attacks, 7 pipe bomb attacks, 4 incidents of small-arms fire and 22 arson attacks.
One hundred and fifty-nine terror attacks took place in October. Of these, 126 originated in Judea and Samaria and 33 in Jerusalem and the Green Line area. In the October attacks, one person was injured. There were no fatalities.
Two hundred and fifty-one terror attacks took place in September. Of these, 199 originated in Judea and Samaria, 42 in Jerusalem and the Green Line area and 10 in the Gaza Strip. The September attacks resulted in six non-fatal casualties. There were no fatalities.
- 13 September: Two civilians were moderately injured in a stabbing attack in Jerusalem.
- 15 September: A civilian was severeely injured in a stabbing attack in Jaffa
- 22 September: A civilian was moderately injured in a ramming attack in Maále Michmash
- 26 September: Two members of the security forces were wounded in a shooting attack in Jenin.
There were eight launches of rockets and mortar bombs from the Gaza Strip. Among other incidents, there were a total of 187 firebomb attacks, 17 pipe bomb attacks, 9 incidents of small-arms fire and 22 arson attacks.
One hundred forty-two terror attacks took place during August. Of these, 92 originated in Judea and Samaria, 25 in Jerusalem and the Green Line and 25 in the Gaza Strip. One person was killed and another injured in the August attacks. A member of the security forces, St.-Sgt. Barel Hadaria Shmueli (21) of Be’er Ya’akov, was killed in a shooting attack in the Gaza Strip on 30 August. A civilian was moderately injured in a stone-throwing attack in Binyamin on 31 August. There were 19 rocket launches from the Gaza Strip during the month. Among other incidents, there were a total of 88 firebomb attacks, 12 pipe bomb attacks and 11 incidents of small-arms fire.
A total of 142 terror attacks took place during July. Of these, 97 originated in Judea and Samaria, 44 in Jerusalem and the Green line and one in the Gaza Strip. While a member of the security forces was moderately injured in a stabbing attack in the Jordan Valley and another slightly injured in a shooting attack at the Qalandiya checkpoint, there were no fatalities due to terror attacks during July. In total, there were 100 firebomb attacks, 7 pipe bomb attacks, 27 arson attempts, 7 incidents of small-arms fire and 1 assault.
A total of 185 terror attacks took place during June; of these,37 originated in the Gaza Strip. No fatalities resulted from these attacks; one civilian was moderately injured in a stone-throwing attack near Qalqilya.
Rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip, targeting civilian facilities in Israeli cities, towns and villages, resulted in 13 deaths and many casualties. Other terror attacks were responsible for two more deaths and additional casualties, bringing the total number of fatal casualties in May to fifteen, with 168 non-fatal casualties.
Apart from the over 4500 rocket launchings from Gaza, there were also incidents of stone-throwing, small-arms fire, pipe bomb, grenade and arson attacks as well as one vehicular attack. For additional information on Operation Guardian of the Walls click here.
130 terror attacks took place in April; there were no fatalities or casualties.
89 terror attacks took place during March. In separate incidents, one person was injured in a firebombing in East Jerusalem, another was injured in a stone-throwing attack and a third was injured in a firebombing. Two members of the security forces were also injured.
A total of 92 terror attacks took place during February. A civilian was moderately injured in a stone-throwing attack in Qalqilya, and there were no fatalities. 91 terror attacks took place in Judea and Samaria and Jerusalem and one originated in the Gaza Strip.
A total of 131 terror attacks took place during January. A civilian was moderately injured in a stone throwing attack in Binyamin on 3 January and there were no fatalities. 85 terror attacks took place in Judea and Samaria, 39 in Jerusalem and within the Green Line and 7 originated in the Gaza Strip. There were 106 firebomb and five pipe bomb attacks and two stone throwing incidents. There were also two rocket launches from the Gaza Strip, four arson attacks, one vehicular attack, three incidents of small-arms fire and five stabbing assaults. Two IED attacks originated from within the Gaza Strip.
Esther Horgan (53) of Tal Menashe, was killed in an assault near her home on 20 December. A member of the security forces sustained slight injuries in a firebomb attack in Issawiya on 15 Decembe. A total of 98 terror attacks took place in December. Of these, 94 took place in the West Bank and Jerusalem with the remaining four originating in the Gaza Strip. There were 85 firebomb, 5 pipe bomb and two small arms firing attacks during the month. There were also two arson attacks and one assault/stabbing attack as well as also three rocket launches from the Gaza Strip.
83 terror attacks took place in November. Of these, 80 took place in the West Bank and Jerusalem with the remaining three originating in the Gaza Strip. There were 60 firebomb, 12 pipe bomb and three small arms firing attacks during the month. There were also four arson attacks and one stabbing attack. There were also three rocket launches from the Gaza Strip. There were no fatalities or casualties.
There were 124 terror attack in October. Two members of the security forces were injured and there were no fatalities. 35 attacks took place in Jerusalem and the Green Line and 82 in Judea and Samaria. Seven attacks originated in the Gaza Strip. The majority were firebombing and pipe bombing attacks, with four rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip.
A total of 100 terror attacks took place in September. 21 attacks took place in Jerusalem and the Green Line, 65 in Judea and Samaria and 14 from the Gaza Strip. There were no fatalities, five Israelis were wounded, including two members of the security forces.
There were a total of 120 terror attacks in August compared to 94 in July. There were 14 attacks from the Gaza Strip in July, 39 attacks in Jerusalem and the Green Line and 67 attacks in Judea and Samaria.
There was one fatality and six non-fatal casualties.
15 August: A civilian was moderately injured in a stabbing attack in Rosh HaAyin.
17 August: One civilian and one member of the security forces suffered slight injuries in a stabbing attack in Jerusalem.
24 August: A member of the security forces was injured in a stone throwing attack at the Al Fawwar Refugee Camp.
26 August: A civilian was killed in a stabbing attack in Petah Tikva.
27 August: A member of the security forces was injured in a stone throwing attack in Issawiya.
28 August: A member of the security forces was injured in a stone throwing attack Hebron.
The majority of attacks in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria consisted of firebomb and pipe bomb attacks (85 and 6 respectively). There were also incidents of stone throwing, small-arms fire, arson and stabbings.
There were five incidents of small-arms fire from the Gaza Strip, 8 rocket launches and one IED.
There were two rocket launchings from the Gaza Strip in July, 22 attacks in Jerusalem and the Green Line and 70 attacks in Judea and Samaria. No people were injured and there were no fatalities.
The majority of attacks in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria consisted of firebomb and pipe bomb attacks (61 and 14 respectively). There were no stone throwing, vehicular or stabbing attacks, but there were several incidents of small-arms fire and arson.
There were four rocket launchings from the Gaza Strip in June, 22 attacks in Jerusalem and the Green Line and 69 attacks in Judea and Samaria. Three people were injured and there were no fatalities.

In May there was a single terror attack from the Gaza Strip, 14 attacks in Jerusalem and the Green Line and 66 attacks in Judea and Samaria. The terror attacks resulted in one fatality and one non-fatal casualty.
12 May: A member of the security forces was killed in a stone throwing attack in Ya’bad/Jenin.
14 May: A member of the security forces was moderately injured in a vehicular attack in Beit Awa/Yatir.

There were two rocket launches from the Gaza Strip in March, 37 in Jerusalem and the Green Line and 50 in Judea and Samaria. The attacks resulted in five non-fatal casualties.
2 March: One person was injured in a firebombing attack in East Jerusalem.

15 March: A member of the security forces was injured in a firebombing attack in East Jerusalem.

The majority of attacks in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria were firebomb and pipe bomb attacks (74 and 5 respectively), but there also incidents of stone throwing attacks. small arms fire, arson and stabbing attacks.
There were 161 terror attacks from the Gaza Strip in February including 127 instances of shelling (rockets and mortars). 171 terror attacks were carried out in Jerusalem and the West Bank.
Feb 3: One member of the security forces was slightly injured in a firebombing at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron
Feb 6: One member of the security forces was moderately injured by gunfire in Binyamin

Feb 6: Ten members of the security forces were injured – two moderately and eight slightly – in a vehicular attack in Jerusalem.

225 terror attacks took place during January. 9 rocket/mortar attacks were launched from Gaza.
Jan. 2: A member of the security forces was slightly injured in a firebombing at Karmei Tzur in Judea.
Jan. 18: An Israeli civilian was moderately injured in a stabbing attack in Hebron.
Jan. 22: An Israeli civilian was moderately injured in a firebombing at Muaskar Al Urub in Judea
During Demeber there were a total of 106 terror attacks in Judea and Samaria and Jerusalem and 10 from the Sinai. In total, there were 81 firebombs attacks, 19 pipe bomb attacks, 2 small-arms fire attacks, 4 arson incidents and 5 rocket bomb attacks from Gaza. No casualties resulted from these attacks.

Southern Israel and Dan Region: The Palestinian Islamic Jihad fired 562 rockets and mortar bombs at a wide range of civilian targets in Israel – communities and farms close to the Gaza border, southern cities such as Netivot, Ashkelon and Ashdod, and as far away as Rehovot and Yavneh. Hamas was not involved. Several dozen Israelis were injured but no one was killed. This is due mainly to the Israeli defense apparatus that includes the Iron Dome system (which intercepted 90% of the rockets), the presence of bomb shelters and security rooms in houses and public buildings, and the disciplined behavior of the Israeli population. Hebron: A woman attempted to stab Border Police officers at the Patriarchs’ Tomb. During their attempt to convince her to surrender, she suddenly rushed at the officers with the knife, at which point the officers opened fire. She was taken to hospital in moderate condition.

Maccabim Junction: A young woman (21) was stabbed and moderately wounded. IDF forces arrested a suspect, a youth (14) from the West Bank.
23 August 2019
Near Dolev, Benjamin region: Rina Shnerb (17), a resident of Lod, was murdered when terrorists detonated an IED near the spring where she was hiking. Her father and brother, who were with her, were seriously wounded.
8 August 2019
Gush Etzion: Dvir Yehuda Sorek (19, from Ofra) a yeshiva student in the IDF Hesder program, was stabbed to death and his body found on the side of the road in Gush Etzion early this morning (8 August). Dvir was the grandson of Rabbi Binyamin Herling, who was shot and killed in a terror attack near Nablus in October 2000.
On 27 November 2019, security forces (IDF, Border Police, Civil Administration) destroyed the houses of 4 terrorists from Bet Kahil village who belonged to the terrorist cell responsible for Sorek’s murder. The houses were destroyed after the High Court of Justice heard the families’ petition against the demolition, which was denied.
7 July 2019
Rivka Jamil, who was injured while running for shelter near her home in Ashkelon during the May 5 rocket barrage, succumbed to her wounds. Her death brings the civilian death toll resulting from the attack to 5 individuals.

Gaza border: About 40,000 Gazans rioted along the border with Israel, throwing stones, burning tires and throwing petrol bombs and IEDs at IDF soldiers and launching incendiary materials in order to ignite fires in Israeli territory. Kerem Shalom crossing (where goods are transferred to the Gaza Strip) was set on fire by Palestinian mobs.
4-6 May 2019
690 rockets were launched at Israel from the Gaza Strip. Some fell in open areas. The Iron Dome defense system intercepted 240. Four people were killed during the barrage. An additional victim who was injured during the attack died in hospital on 7 July (see below). An additional 141 people were wounded, and 522 buildings were damaged.

Gaza border: About 40,000 Gazans rioted along the border with Israel, throwing stones, burning tires and throwing grenades and IEDs in several places.

Southern Israel: During the night, about 60 rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israel. Many were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system; the rest fell mostly in uninhabited areas. The people living in dozens of communities near Gaza and throughout southern Israel spent most of the night in shelters or specially reinforced rooms in their homes. Schools will be closed today in communities and cities throughout the south, including in Beersheba, the eighth most populous city (pop: over 207,550) in Israel.
In Sderot, a house sustained a direct hit. A rocket crashed through the wall and luckily did not explode. The owner, alone in the house, made it to the ‘safe room’ before the rocket landed – in his son’s room.
Update on yesterday’s injured: the grandmother’s condition is stable; she is being treated for her wounds. The 12-year-old granddaughter will undergo a minor operation on her foot. The rest are recovering from light injuries.

Moshav Mishmeret, near Kfar Saba: Seven people were injured when, early this morning, a house in the center of the country suffered a direct hit from a rocket launched from the Gaza Strip. The injured: parents, grandparents and three children – an infant, a 3-year-old, and a 12-year-old grandchild who lives next door. The house was almost totally destroyed; the family’s four dogs were killed in the attack. Neighboring houses suffered damage, mainly to windows and tiled roofs. This community hasn’t heard sirens warning of long-range rocket attacks since Operation Protective Edge (July 2014).

Ariel Junction, Samaria: Sgt. Gal Keidan (19) was murdered by a Palestinian terrorist who stabbed him, grabbed his weapon and shot him. The terrorist continued shooting at civilians at the junction, critically injuring Rabbi Ahiad Ettinger (47, father of 12), who died of his wounds the next morning. The terrorist (20) stole a car from one of the civilians who fled the attack and drove to the Gitrai Avisar junction, where he shot and seriously injured another soldier. As of 18 March in the morning, the doctors were still fighting to save his life.
4 March 2019
Kfar Naama: An IDF officer was seriously wounded and a border policeman was lightly wounded in a car ramming attack in the middle of the night. Two of the assailants were shot and killed by IDF forces and a third was wounded. The terrorists had earlier thrown petrol bombs at a junction on Route 443.
7 February 2019
19-year old Ori Ansbacher was violently assaulted and stabbed to death in the Jerusalem Ein Yael forest, while taking a walk nearby her workplace. On 8 February, Israeli Police arrested Arafat Irfiya (29), a Palestinian from Hebron. Arafat Irfiya admitted that the murder was a nationalistically motivated stabbing attack.
7 January 2019
Security forces arrested a terrorist suspected of perpetrating the 13 December attack at Givat Assaf, in which two soldiers were killed. The terrorist, a member of the Barghouti family which has a history of involvement in terror, was released from prison in April 2018 after serving an 11-year sentence. His brother, who carried out the shooting attack at the Ofra bus stop on 9 December (see below), was shot and killed on 12 December while attempting to evade arrest.
13 December 2018
Givat Assaf junction, Route 60, Benjamin Region: In a shooting attack at a bus stop/hitchhiking post, two IDF soldiers were killed (Yoseph Cohen, 19, and Yovel Mor Yosef, 20); and two others were seriously wounded. The terrorist/s fled the scene.
Later in the afternoon, an attempted ramming attack near Ramallah-El Bira (which is also off Route 60) was foiled by IDF soldiers.
Old City, Jerusalem: At 5 a.m. a terrorist (26, from Qalandia) armed with a knife attacked two on-duty police officers, injuring them lightly. One of the officers managed to shoot and kill the attacker.
12-13 December 2018
During the night, security forces located the terrorist that murdered two people in the Barkan Industrial Park (see below, 7 October). The terrorist was shot and killed while resisting arrest.
Security forces located suspects in the terrorist attack outside Ofra on 9 December (see below). One was shot and killed during the struggle to apprehend them, and more suspects were arrested.
12 December 2018
Amiad Israel Ish-Ran, the 30-week-old premature baby delivered after his mother was critically wounded in the 9 December shooting attack, died. The mother’s condition is stable.

Ofra, Benjamin region: In a drive-by shooting, 7 people waiting at a bus stop on Route 60 were injured. Among the injured was a pregnant woman (21). The baby (30 weeks) was delivered in an emergency C-section and the mother underwent surgery; both are fighting for their lives. In addition, 6 people, including the woman’s husband and two 17- year-old girls, were lightly to moderately injured. The 30-week-old premature baby, delivered after his mother was critically wounded in the shooting attack, died on 12 December. The mother’s condition is stable.
On the night between Decenber 12-13, security forces located suspects in the murder outside Ofra on 9 December. One was shot and killed during the struggle to apprehend them, and a second man was arrested.
At the same bus stop (which is also a hitch-hiking post), on 6 April 2017, Sgt. Elhai Teharlev (20) was killed and another soldier injured in a car ramming attack. In the current wave of terror since October 2015, there have been at least 7 terrorist attacks in or near Ofra.
IDF sources report that in the past year, about 500 planned or attempted terrorist attacks have been foiled by security forces.

In a neighboring home, a single piece of shrapnel pierced the outer wall, sailed over beds, through the wall of the kitchen and through the refrigerator, finally stopping when it hit the oven. The family – parents and 2 small children – had fled outside when the siren sounded.

Beersheba: A rocket fired in a predawn attack from the Gaza Strip struck a house in Beersheba, causing extensive damage. The family sustained no injuries due to the mother’s quick response, getting her children out of bed when the warning siren went off and pulling them into the home bomb shelter. Beersheba, the main city in southern Israel with over 200,000 people, is 40 kilometers (about 25 miles) from Gaza. A second rocket landed off the coast of Tel Aviv.

Gaza border: Serious incidents in Friday’s riots: Gazans planted an explosive device by the security fence which exploded and blew a hole in the fence. A number of assailants crossed into Israel and tried to assault an IDF post. Israeli troops fired on them, killing three. About 15,000 Palestinian rioters gathered at various points along the security fence, hurled explosive devices, firebombs and rocks, shot with crossbows at IDF troops and burned tires. The soldiers responded with riot dispersal means and fire in accordance with standard operating procedures. In total, 7 Palestinians were killed in the Friday riots.
Ten fires broke out in southern Israel, ignited by incendiary balloons launched over the border.

Barkan Industrial Park: Two Israelis, Kim Levengrond-Yehezkel (28, mother of a baby) and Ziv Hajbi (35, father of three), were killed and a third wounded in a shooting attack. The assailant (23), who has been identified as an employee at a factory in the park, has not been caught. The third victim of the shooting was aided by another Palestinian employee at the scene and is in moderate condition. The businesses in Barkan Industrial Park employ some 8,000 people, about half Israelis and half Palestinians.

The three, two civilian security guards and one border police officer, were on duty when the terrorist, who held a work permit, aroused their suspicions. The terrorist, who had intended to carry out an attack on the civilians in the community, opened fire, killing the three and injuring one other person. The terrorist was killed by security forces.

Neve Tzuf-Halamish, western Binyamin region: On Friday night, three Israelis were murdered in their home as they sat at the Sabbath table. Yossi Salomon (70), his oldest daughter Chaya (46) and his son Elad (36) were stabbed to death; Yossi’s wife, Tova, was stabbed in the back and, after undergoing surgery, is recovering in a Jerusalem hospital. Elad’s wife managed to get their 5 small children to safety in an upstairs bedroom. The terrorist (19, from the nearby village Kaubar) was shot and wounded by a neighbor, an off-duty IDF soldier who rushed over when he heard screams.

Temple Mount, Jerusalem: Two Israeli Border Police officers on duty on the Temple Mount were shot and killed by terrorists: Three armed terrorists entered the compound early Friday morning. After being discovered by police officers, they tried to escape into a mosque. In the exchange of fire between the terrorists and police officers, Haiel Stawi (30) and Kamil Shnaan (22) were fatally wounded; a medic was lightly wounded; and the terrorists (all from Umm el-Fahm) were shot and killed. The Temple Mount was closed by police. The unusually severe response was due to the unusually severe nature of the attack – staging an armed attack on the grounds of a site holy to both Jews and Muslims.

Zedekiah’s Cave near Damascus Gate, Jerusalem: Two Palestinians shot at passersby. In the combined attacks, 3-4 people were wounded, including a Border Police officer. The attackers were shot and killed. Police suspect that the three terrorists, all from villages in the West Bank, took advantage of the relaxed travel restrictions during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan to enter Israel.

She decided to commit a terrorist attack so that the security forces would shoot her because – in her words – she was fed up with her life.

Old City, Jerusalem: A terrorist entered the guard post at the Lions’ Gate and attacked two border police officers with a knife, wounding them moderately. While struggling with the assailant, one of the officers succeeded in shooting and killing the terrorist (25, from Jabel Muqaber, an Arab neighborhood in Jerusalem). This is the 9th terrorist from Jabel Muqaber caught committing a terrorist attack since the current wave of attacks began in October 2015; more have been arrested as suspects.

The assailant confessed that the attack was deliberate (according to Times of Israel).

Cochav Yakov, Binyamin region: Attempted ramming attack against people waiting at a bus stop was thwarted by metal posts placed around the bus stop to prevent just such attacks. The driver (18, from Qalandia), who was holding a knife but did not exit the car, was shot and killed by soldiers who were at the bus stop. The attacker was the cousin of the terrorist who murdered Shlomit Kriegman exactly one year ago today.
Aboud, Binyamin region: Drive-by shooting at soldiers near the Arab village of Aboud. The assailant was shot and wounded.

Jerusalem, Armon Hanatziv neighbourhood: A truck driven by a terrorist left the road, accelerated and ran over a group of young people who had just gotten off of a bus at the Armon Hanatziv promenade in Jerusalem. The attack occurred shortly after 1 pm. Four young people (3 women and one man in their 20s) were killed and over 11 injured. Soldiers in the group and a civilian bystander shot and killed the driver (28, from the nearby Jabel Mukaber neighborhood) as he turned around and backed up to run over the victims again. The injured (one very critically, several seriously and the rest moderately to lightly) were taken to hospital.
